This is the whole reason why we need Arts and Sciences both prioritised for young people, not just STEM. Humans are all different and we need to learn from each other.
Great culture can save lives. Literally.

Just catching up with this amazing bit of London Centric reporting and this is such an excellent description of the weird epistemic ambiguity produced by AI: "There’s clearly something political about it but nobody knows what it is." www.londoncentric.media/p/ai-artwork...
London's giant AI artwork to be torn down
The bizarre story of why a much-talked-about creation is being torn down. Plus: Docklands Light Railway extension, giant laser stalks the night sky, and more tales of Android phone theft rejection.

Does anyone have any idea what this is? At a conference in Italy, and this ame in the goodie bag (logo on other side). Bit on back slides out to a hook of sorts, bit that swivels round has a felt widget (non-removable) in it. And no, it's not a USB drive.

People really ought to be more embarrassed about putting shit like this up in public.
This mural has gone up in Kingston, ostensibly for Christmas but AI has ensured it's actually to celebrate the return of our dark lord Cthulhu

This is interesting drama to follow lol

TLDR, the people who made the AI coke commercial are denying it and generating fake concept art, actual concept artists are ripping it all apart as fake because the guy has no idea how any of this works
The disconnected Apple Pencil? The expression sheet with all the same expression? The art with the footsteps in the snow in front of the characters running? The file with one (1) background layer? Erasing the “hand drawn” background by hand on said one (1) layer file? Where do I starttttttt
They did! It’s amazing (derogatory)

Long shot (mainly due to how little engagement I get on here), but I'm looking for freelance writers with an interest, or specialism in, classical music.

If you are one, or know one, please give me a shout.

Learned that an anonymous outside expert on submersibles did an interview with the OceanGate Titan investigation, and they released a transcript, with all the names redacted. The first line of his first answer? "I'm sure you're familiar with my film Titanic."

The BBC are accidentally running the subtitles to Mrs Marple over the Mercury Prize, and it’s rather wonderful. A few of lines could plausibly have been written by Jarvis.

When it comes to the media industry + AI, this post by @werd.io has really stayed with me: werd.io/evaluating-ai/ – specifically this line:

"AI output should never be seen by an end user: they’re potentially useful tools to speed up someone’s work, but the end result still needs to be human."
