"KEMI BADENOCH has rejected calls for masks to be worn in public as flu cases rise.

"The Tory leader said that she was “traumatised” by the memory of face mask mandates during the pandemic, and said the Government should not be telling people to wear them."

She's traumatised by wearing a mask!

We're seeing a large surge in flu cases across the UK, with masks barely mentioned as a mitigation, when they are one of the most reliable tools of mitigating spread. Email us to get free high quality masks - illness is not inevitable!

We've written & published a short summary statement regarding the Sandie Peggie V NHS Fife Health Board employment tribunal case & the judgment given yesterday. Much of the media coverage has missed key information, the most important aspect being that all claims against Dr Beth Upton were dismissed

I absolutely adore the BBC Lord Of The Rings. It's the version I grew up with and it's sooooo good.
The BBC adaptation is not only one of my favourite adaptations of The Lord of the Rings, it also has some of my favourite music and favourite illustrations for Middle-earth, as well.

An all-round brilliant version and if you haven't, you should.

I love these so much. Wonderful illustrations
Eric Fraser's art was simply glorious, and he created the illustrations that went with the credits to the weekly episodes in the BBC's Radio Times magazine.

You can find them all over on Brian Sibley's page. They're wonderful.

I ordered this absolutely adorable bag by @angemmorton.bsky.social from her Redbubble shop angelamarieart.redbubble.com . It's beautiful!

Truly, making such charming illustrations during these dark times is an act of defiance... and it's always lovely to support covid safe artists.

My heart is breaking for my friends who run Guides units and have put their heart and soul into it.

The statement is so obviously 'this is the last thing we want to do but we can't stand against a billionaire with an obsessive grudge'.

This seems like a straightforward human rights disaster. A pregnant asylum seeker can't access maternity care because the hospital is a two hour walk away, and loses her baby because issues weren't identified. Or when she goes into labour instead of calling a taxi she has to wait for an ambulance!
If somebody had to travel 250 miles for a medical appointment then yes there’s a problem but the taking a taxi ain’t it

A dog’s paw print on a Roman clay tile 🐾 🐕 😍

About 2,000 years-ago, a dog made its mark for ‘pawsterity’ when it wandered across the wet tile laid out to dry before firing.

Some vaccines like COVID and flu don’t stop completely stop infection.

But they do reduce the risk of getting infected and greatly reduce severe illness risk.

They are still worth getting.

Since they are not 100% effective it’s also wise to add another layer of protection by wearing a mask.
