Oh, so the administration FAVORS prison rape?

Around the world, rape of queer and trans people is often a punishment for being queer or trans. Nowhere more so than in prison.
BREAKING: Trump administration plans to end prison rape protections for trans & intersex people, memo says. A DOJ memo says certain standards under the Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA) do not align with Trump’s Jan. 20 anti-trans executive order, @byadamrhodes.bsky.social reports.

For a country that drinks a lot of coffee, Americans (generally) sure do not like the taste of it.

Trump putting the Washington Post and CBS News in his “Offender Hall of Shame,” even as they bend over backwards to curry favor tells us that nothing short of full propaganda mode will ever be acceptable to him. There's no way for a news organization to maintain credibility and be "fair" to Trump.

My new favorite conspiracy: Gordon Lightfoot sank the Edmund Fitzgerald himself in order to have an idea for a hit song.

Why isn't there Christian rave music? Like, just sick beats interspersed with quotes from Jesus?

I'm thinking of Matthew Fox's "Techno-Cosmic Mass" and it seems like this would be a better alternative to the shitty Christian worship music.

Y'know, I've never been Team Maddow necessarily but I did like @maddow.bsky.social speaking up against the war during the War on Terror period at a time when few in the media were willing to do so.

WTF is she doing at Cheney's funeral?

Elon Musk’s anti-woke version of Wikipedia, Grokipedia, cites neo-Nazi forums in multiple places as source.

A great validation of the notion that when people say they’re anti-woke, they just mean they’re hyper racist.
Elon Musk’s Grokipedia cites Stormfront — a neo-Nazi forum — dozens of times, study finds
An analysis by researchers at Cornell University is the first comprehensive look at Grokipedia since Musk launched his project last month.

I enjoyed "Our Flag Means Death" but I think a better idea would be a ship of women and queer people that become pirates on the Pacific to escape patriarchy. A "found family" story encountering strange religions, high weirdness, queerness, etc. If I knew how to write, I would write this series.

as a reporter, the part of this that i’ve simply never understood is how the next person to ask a question when he does something like this doesn’t simply repeat the question that set him off. it’s not just solidarity with your colleague, it’s an important question that remains worth asking
I’m not going to pretend it’s easy to say something in the moment when you witness the president do this and you’re aboard Air Force One with all the uniformed officers and secret service and fancy wood accents, but this is really an instance where you should. people.com/donald-trump...

Was SNL not funny this whole time or am I just too old to be its target audience?
Skit after skit, I just don't think is funny at all. Like, I know who Sebastian Maniscalso is but I thought that skit featuring the guy playing him was fucking terrible.

So when I see things on my Discover feed that I do not want, (for example, sports), I click on the poster and mute them.

However, I think something in the algorithm makes it think that me clicking on a post about sports indicates that I was interested in sports, which makes me get more. Ugh!
