We took on a powerful incumbent who was expected to coast to reelection.

We faced more corporate PAC money than has ever been spent attacking a candidate in a Seattle election.

We built a people-powered movement rooted in hope for our city’s future.

And we won.

This is YOUR city!

i'm delighted by the dude who apparently found having a cup of coffee sans cream and sugar without passing out as much of a challenge to be surmounted as squatting over 400 lbs

she misspoke; these conversations actually took place in the Predicament Room
Q: "Why are White House officials…meeting with Rep. Boebert in an effort to try to get her to not sign this petition calling for the release of the [Epstein] files?"

Leavitt: "I'm not going to detail conversations that took place in the situation room."

really going out on a limb recommending an A-III film like Ordinary People
Pope Leo has shared his four favorite movies of all time, as the Vatican prepares to host dozens of actors and directors in a “World of Cinema” gathering on Saturday at his official residence. See which films made the pope's list. nyti.ms/4p3exK9

it's true, there is a lot more alpha in greek texts
Andreesen: There is so much alpha in books from 1870 to 1930, it's unreal.

Me: Holy shit! There's so much alpha in Upton Sinclair?

A: LOL no...no not those books

Me: So...Mark Twain?

A: Haha no not those books either

Me: Which books, exactly?

A: Oh, you know the ones

my corollary to this is every time someone says "put that in the smithsonian," i'm like uh huh, and good luck ever seeing it in an exhibit at all, much less with the context necessary to challenge the status quo in the way you're imagining
Every time someone’s like “put that in the louvre,” my head now goes “and then steal it from the louvre, the security password is louvre”

Pluribus, somewhat surprisingly, is in large part about the push for AI everything.

But it's also about the limits of utilitarianism, and about consent, and about what makes us people.

Two episodes in, and I'm really hoping they can keep this up.
