absolutely insane that Valve have gone from advocating an open storefront, to stricter censorship around the content they carry than, say, fuckin' Walmart.

Ben Mulroney, host of Global News’ flagship political Sunday show, and prominent journalist Steve Paikin are both in Israel getting a briefing from the Israeli government???

What the absolute fuck, dude.

It looks like every Irish outlet (that I've seen so far) has just transcribed a wire services report about the Linehan trial that is *dripping* with anti trans bias, misgendering the victim, calling the teenage victim an "activist" but not Linehan, and eliding the fact that the victim was a child

The thing about the Linehan case is that either the Judge is sympathetic to 'gender critical' ideology or British law thinks it's perfectly acceptable for a 57 year old man to stalk, doxx and physically attack a 17 year old girl.

Both explanations are horrifying.

I put this up for sale early cause I came back to like a zillion notifications and I have no job right now, buy my comic! It's made by a human who loves making comics out of spite, this is the second in my unofficial spite series. The first was a comic about learning to write HTML to spite one guy.
If you would like to read the rest of this 40-page comic, BRAINS, you can snag it from itch for $10, I just put it up in my shop. It will also be available in print at MICE (micexpo.org) in December, where each one will have a hand-drawn custom illustration at the back of the book on the last page.

Starmer plans on letting amateur volunteers send ppl to jail for two years without a jury, AND severely restricting the right to appeal.

This is as bad as anything Trump has attempted to do to our justice system. And it has much better odds of actually succeeding!
oh Americans may not understand this, but a 'magistrate' in the UK is a local volunteer with typically no legal background. But it's ok, they receive about 10 days of training. And now they can send you to jail for two years without a jury!

Infinity Train.
If you were a despotic president, what movie would you force Hollywood to make? I want to see Quentin's Star Trek movie or maybe Kill Bill Vol 3.

"Boys are taught they are the centre of the universe" and if I'd internalized that as a messiah complex rather than as a self-annihilating sense of responsibility indistinguishable from motherhood I'm sure it would be relevant.

This is one of those #CoalMineCanaries actions that can be stopped before it happens, by contacting your Congresspeople and telling them to fight for trans health care. The GOP wants to strip trans coverage from the ACA.

If the Dems cave, the GOP won't stop with trans people.

If you, like me, want to watch payment processors suffer AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE? Call from the day before Black Friday to like the day before Christmas at minimum.

I know it's hard to have a perpetual campaign, so think of it as just this month for now.
Spoke to my source familiar with internal workings at Mastercard. The holiday call campaign re payment processor censorship is working, there is a lot of pressure being felt from your calls. This is resulting in increased response times at a core moment for Mastercard due to the holiday season

Nearly-perfect printed and handwritten text recognition is the most consequential technical contribution to the study of human culture of the last fifteen years, and it's not even close.

It fundamentally changes our (both lay and expert) relationship with the written past.

NEWS --> BBC confirms to me that they did edit a line out of historian @rutgerbregman.com's speech. It called Trump "the most openly corrupt president in US history."

BBC also confirms this was done on the advice of lawyers. So Trump's threats worked.

Trump’s Fury at BBC Gets Unnerving Results with Pro-MAGA Edit Stunner
First, British Broadcasting Corporation execs resigned after Trump complained about a segment. Now the BBC edited out a line from a historian that was critical of Trump. Where does this end?

Having lived through this once (anti-gay rhetoric in the 80s), if you’re a young journalist going after the glory of a big story that’s actually just a front for bigotry, can I suggest you think about what the rest of your career looks like when this fever finally breaks?
