Stalin did more to undermine the global cause of socialism and waste the revolutionary moment than anyone else, the Trotskyists aren't wrong about that.

this might be the first time I've seen Jeffries genuinely angry at someone besides the left, this statement was *not* workshopped to hell and back
BREAKING:

New reaction from Leader Jeffries to the racist Trump video:

"This disgusting video posted by the so-called president was done intentionally. Fuck Donald Trump and his vile, racist, and malignant behavior. This guy is an unhinged bottom feeder."

Hillary herself in the context of the 2008 primary is a v tragic figures- she had long since been broken down into destroying the part of herself that believed in anything and was faced with Obama, who had been able to skip ahead of having to do that by being a latecomer to the national stage

really the most larger than life greek tragedy figure of living presidents. an apex politician perpetually undone by his own appetites, simultaneously extremely principled and craven. all politicians are to some extent of course, but it's just 100x with him.
I can respect Clinton's prowess as a politician without liking him as a president or a man

Age does not automatically mean that you are out of touch on what the moment calls for (see: 82 year old VA state senate leader Louise Lucas) but it certainly ups the odds of that being the case.

Rose DeLauro will be 83 next month. Like many other older electeds who no longer seem to be able to understand what this moment calls for from them, she needs to retire and let someone else represent this district.
“I would rather you vote for what is morally correct,” Davidson said.

“Don’t talk to me about my own morality,” DeLauro shot back.

“Don’t tell your constituents what they can and can’t talk to you about,” replied Rev. Nathan Empsall. “What you are voting for is not moral.”

AOC: This most recent election for the House, in many ways was stolen by the Republican majority. They have a 3 seat majority in the House. Those three seats were gerrymandered out of North Carolina last cycle. That is why I am so glad we fought back in California and Virginia to even the field

OTOH, treating land acknowledgments and Hollywood/C-suite diversity as substantive gains

OTOH, refusing to distinguish between physical and verbal aggression

I think woke I used social practices underlying cultural norms as a method of dissemination effectively, but

1 not optimally (too much shame/not enough praise, shame misdirected), and
2 at the expense of more substantive (ie legal, political) mechanisms of cultural change
