Don’t let this White House lie to you. Believe what you see.

Alex Pretti was trying to help a woman off the ground. Then immigration agents tackled, shot, and killed him.

It’s time for them to get the hell out of MN.

I don’t believe the Trail of Tears is any more American than the March on Selma.

The Montgomery Bus Boycott is also very American. So is Stonewall.

I don’t define America exclusively by the actions of its worst actors. Jonathan Ross is not more American than Renee Good.
What is more American than stealing land and breaking treaties?

I'd argue there is a reason that we see a pattern and this actually is the American way.

Maybe part of the problem is ignoring this?

You got it: deflation is the process of nominal prices of goods and services going down over time. Intuitively it might seem good: things get cheaper for consumers, hooray! In actuality this is one of the worst possible things that can happen to an economy. It's "people will starve to death" bad 1/x
Would love an explainer!

That is an ICE agent pepper spraying a restrained victim in the face at close quarters; it's an unquestionable and indefensibly abusive use of excessive force that should (but won't) be criminally prosecuted as assault

ICE murdered Renee Good just blocks away from where police murdered George Floyd.

@ayannapressley.bsky.social and I are introducing the Qualified Immunity Abolition Act to hold ICE agents and all federal law enforcement officers accountable. We need justice. Abolish qualified immunity now.

"he doesn't know any numbers besides 25" theory strikes again
you know what the worst thing about Trump’s trade policy is? He can’t get away from the number 25%.

“Uhh sir how big a tariff should we put on Mexico?” “25%” “and steel?” “25%” “Aluminum?” “25%” “Cars?” “25%” “semiconductors?” “25%”

Pick a different number!

But "world's richest billionaire is a White nationalist who wants ethnic cleansing of brown people from White nations" should be a bigger fucking story!!

I think what is remarkable here is that it illustrates the bubble Trump is in. As soon as another human being questions his interpretation as they watch the actual video, he moves on. Online, and clearly in the White House, no-one is pushing back and so he makes outlandish claims.
This is quite a sequence:

—Trump asks aide for video of ICE shooting to convince NYT interviewers that driver tried to "run over" agent

—They watch together

—Interviewers note it shows nothing of the sort

—Trump says "well . . . it's a terrible scene"

Minnesota investigators were forced out after an ICE-involved killing. The FBI swoops in. This isn’t justice- it’s a fucking cover-up! Trump and Noem built a system where federal agents police themselves after someone is murdered. That’s not law and order. That’s abuse of power.
"The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension has just revealed that federal officials have 'reversed course,' and the investigation into the killing of a Minneapolis woman by an ICE agent will be conducted by the FBI without assistance from the BCA."

For months, Trump’s DHS has wreaked lawless havoc in our neighborhoods. Tear gassing infants, families, and police. Firing their weapons at peaceful citizens. Killing innocent people.

It’s brutal, unconstitutional, and out of control.

It must stop.

Kristi Noem must go. Now.

I continue to be surprised at my own capacity to be shocked. I feel so angry and ill. I dread what horrors would be required to set in motion the uprooting of all of this—not just from the government, but in the millions who eagerly chose and even now cheer this inhumanity.

The people I come from eagerly chose it and cheer it, and knowing that makes every wretchedness of this regime a thousand times fouler to me. I want to know what it would take not only for these evildoers to be driven from power and receive justice, but for people to repent with sackcloth and ashes.

Trump says he’s “pro-police” and “tough on crime”, yet he unleashed 1,500+ criminals onto our streets, many of whom assaulted law enforcement on J6. Since Trump’s pardons, they’ve committed:

- Kidnapping
- Sexual assault
- Burglary
- Death threats against elected officials
