Gender can and should be a home, not a prison. That is the entire teaching. The rest is interpretation.

10 Dec 2025 @rikiwilchins.bsky.social -- Kennedy's HHS announces investigation into whether state health licensing rules require Christian providers to participate in trans health care or abortion in another apparent attempt at intimidation. This is the 5th such "conscience rights" investigation.

I appreciate the header above the headline: "Still going"

Besides obvious health risks, consider the economic costs.

Currently: 254 unvaxxed & exposed ppl in quarantine, including 43 students

Quarantine period=21 days from exposure

Consider lost work for self/caring for child missing school.

HHS’s language, grouping “sex-rejecting procedures” with female genital mutilation, conflates transgender medical care with criminal acts, while the government shows little urgency about nonconsensual surgeries on intersex children, one health policy expert told me.

A major case was decided last week against a Georgia ban on gender affirming care for transgender people who are incarcerated.

The previous policy was cruel, forcing medical detransition.

They're using the confinement box, one of the most horrific methods of CIA torture in the post-9/11 black sites, against migrants now. This is the direct result of the lack of consequences for the architects of the torture program. Either there will be criminal penalties for this or it will expand.

In August, we got a bit of extra money from a generous donor, and I used it to expand into coverage of trans life in American prisons.

This piece, by incarcerated journalist B Speaks, describes the chaos Georgia's forced detransition regime, currently halted by the courts, wreaked in one prison.

This new documentary about single working class men in China is compelling. But it attributes their hardship to the shortage of men, explained only as: "[China's] one-child policy left it with over 30 million more men than women." A one-child policy by itself does not affect the sex ratio...
