And yeah obviously politicians have always lied and commercials have always lied and celebrities have always lied, but there’s a vast gulf between exaggeration or taking things out of context and just asking you to believe the sky is purple and you’re not wrong for feeling insane and upset at it all

One of the things that has pretty annoying is that if you have any kind of bullshit meter, if you have anything inside of yourself that doesn’t enjoy being lied to, the last couple of years of almost every area of public life have been driving you up a fucking wall
