14. Straight up misgendering. I’m mentioning this, as if you come across it, it may not be clear that they are doing it. It’s a refusal to acknowledge trans people even exist, and is usually used in a detached, matter-of-fact way as if it has always been so. 40/41

So now, the preference for referring to trans men and women respectfully is ‘trans men’ and ‘trans women’. The ‘trans’ is now functioning as an adjective. Note that this is a case of language in evolution and is not always definitively bigoted. But it usually is. 16/41

Note that ‘intersex’ is not a gender term. Some people confuse it with ‘non-binary’ which is a gender term. ‘Non-binary’ indicates gender that is not man or woman. 7/41
