I've been on Twitter and I can smell bots/trolls.
You know, there's a lot wrong with all the changes to Twitter these days.

But this was one of if not the only right ones. And now it appears they have taken it away.

The General is only repeating what we are taught in the service.

The chain of command derives its authority from the U.S. Constitution, which, matter of factly, is one ladder above the President

I wish they had taught that in Basic.
Oregon National Guard General Alan Gronewold:

“Yes, if you give an order that directs a soldier to commit a criminal act, they should disobey that."

The only person who thinks the contrary is a 34-count convicted felon, who wouldn't pay himself for the crime committed by the soldier.

I've been resisting sitting down and figuring out how to disable all AI functions in Chrome via their GPO. Seems like I'll have to make that happen sooner than my procrastination would have allowed.
Oh wait! Figured out how to get rid of the garbage Gemini button in Chrome:

- Right-click
- Unpin

Gone!

Ok, there is a lot of bad info out there on this.
You don't lose your categorization.
Or spell check.
Or spam filtering.
I've been opted out of the two things you have to opt out of for over a year and none of this stuff has happened to me and I just checked my settings and tested...
So apparently Google just started scanning your emails with its Gemini AI and if you opt out of this, you lose your (vital to me) categorization of emails as important/promo/etc. I’m kind of stunned at this. After all these years, how do I switch to a new email provider?

I'm a Microsoft share holder and I can't stand what they are doing to their software products.

They write horrible software and they are making an unforced error by inflicting AI onto their customers that don't want it.

If you're trying to convince your friends to spend time on Bluesky rather than X, maybe show them this. X is not "the public town square" or about "free speech." It's "just what Elon Musk wants you to see." If you see stuff he doesn't like he'll step in to make sure you don't see it for long.
If you scroll on X, you are only being shown what Elon wants you to see. If you create content on X, no one will see it unless Elon wants them to.

To everyone saying that people in our military already know not to follow unlawful orders, how do you explain almost 100 civilians murdered on fishing boats in the Caribbean so far?

If you receive an illegal order, you have a duty to disobey.

This isn’t controversial.

A President calling for the execution of anyone who reminds service members of this oath is showing us why the duty to disobey illegal orders is so important in the first place.

This story is begging for more attention
Yesterday, Trump defended the Saudi Crown Prince in the Oval Office.

He said he had “nothing” to do with the murder of Jamal Khashoggi.

But I reviewed a call while serving on Trump’s NSC that I believe would be of interest to the Khashoggi family and the American people.

Release the transcript.

She is wrong.
You don't carry out illegal orders.

The shitty truth: it will cost you not to carry out illegal orders.
It shouldn't but it does.

It's obvious that she's never worn the uniform.
Fox News's Martha MacCallum makes a case for following illegal orders: "If you are in the US military, you sign up, you carry out the mission that is assigned to you. The other option is to not join the military or to leave if you feel you can't carry out an order. But the command is integral."

140 arrested and only 2 charged.
I'm not a mathematician, but that seems like a truly shitty percentage. 1.4% effectiveness. ICE and the FBI suck. How much manpower did all that cost for 2 people?
Records obtained for first people charged in connection with federal raid on North Side
Court records showing formal charges against two individuals connected to a North Side raid have been obtained by KSAT Investigates as authorities remain mum on the operation.

I'm gonna paraphrase here, but if the press corps remember to behave like they still remembered this meant something: what happened to, 'don't pick a fight with someone who buys ink by the barrel?'
I’ve been thinking and it’s kind of exceptional that not a single person said “Hey now” after the piggy comment.
