Anyone wanting to find Ed Davey's response to the budget on the BBC website, you need to look under ENGLAND -> POLITICS -> PARLIAMENT -> BUDGET -> BEWARE OF THE LEOPARD -> and it's the third item on the page after two pieces about Reform.

If you've got a history book at home, take it out, throw it in the bin, it's worthless. The history books, now, will have to be rewritten. They'll quite simply say "The OBR released a budget analysis 25 minutes early". Everything else will be a footnote.
Mate you need to chill the fuck out lmao

Imagine TV News covering this farmer protest - banned, but turned up anyway, grinding capital to a halt - if it were about Palestine or climate change, not inheritance tax. Would they present protesters as heroes? Or showing "I need to get to work" and "me auld mam missed her hip operation" voxpops?

Ah, great. Now my all-time favourite song - Simple Minds' Someone Somewhere in Summertime - is being used to advertise ChatGPT 😐

Had to double-check this fact from The Rest Is Entertainment - but yes, according to market research, people's favourite Christmas ad this year is... the Coke AI one 😐

Sure the family of the very much still alive Nina Sosanya will love this (entirely deliberate) clickbait picture cropping. Misdirection is now the internet's main job.

Well done to Radio Times for this. Weirdly, the sale of a great British asset like ITV to the Americans doesn't appear to be a concern to any of the usual "patriots".

Oh, this is sad. Among other things, her brilliant, insightful and witty TV reviews for the New Statesman were a last bastion of this fast disappearing art.
Wonderful and moving tribute by @timadamswrites.bsky.social to Rachel Cooke, the brilliant Observer journalist who also frequently lit up the pages of the Guardian Weekly, who has died at the age of 56.
