This is why the US has not, at all, acknowledged covid as a mass death event, and part of why it refuses to acknowledge it is also an ongoing mass disabling event (with millions more grieving for the futures it made impossible to them)

This is simply not technically possible. You cannot generate enough writing in-house to train an LLM. You cannot generate enough art in-house to train a GAN. People who think they have a model "trained on our own material" are using a base model of mass-scraped data, unknowingly or disingenuously.

maybe this is my childhood in Missouri talking but if i got my car stuck in the winter and everyone gathered around to point, laugh, and heckle me in monotone over a megaphone i think id just lay in the snowbank until the elements took me
This morning in Minneapolis, an ICE vehicle got stuck on an icy hill in a residential neighborhood. Agents had to push the vehicles out, some almost slipping in the ice themselves.

not a coincidence to me that my most pleasant interaction with a “celebrity” on twitter were with the ones who kept masking after most people stopped, or with that one guy from Gotham who hates crypto now
Twitter was once packed with somewhat famous people who plainly were not at all used to hearing the word “No”, let alone “LOL you are wrong, you dickhead”. It’s not hard to see which of them are the type that expect deference and respect, and turn to bloodcurdling vendettas when they don’t get it.
