check the quotes on each gothic metal rec to go through them in order :)
im probably one of the more knowledgeable people on gothic metal within america, so i feel like reccing one album per week to shed light on the most unique and underrated hidden gems within the wide umbrella of metal. focusing on classics first because they actually are *that* good
if kreayshawn debuted in 2020 she would have been a superstar with an insane zoomer fanbase

it's like all those linkedin resume advice posts that tell you "just use action verbs, bring out numbers, and have microsoft, google, meta, and openAI internships on your resume"
The secret to early retirement; dine out rarely, fly economy and be a Google employee making $390,000/year married to a fellow Google employee 17 years older than you who likely makes twice as much as you.
37-year-old quit her $390,000 Google job after saving up $1.5 million—see the 'no buy checklist' that helps her spend less
She left a $390,000-a-year job and now uses a simple set of rules to make her savings last in Switzerland.

as someone who's about to graduate: i feel like there's a massive gender gap within college mainly. the vast majority of the women i worked with were absolutely brilliant. meanwhile i'd say like 40% of the guys are giving a genuine effort, and the remaining 60% might as well have been lobotomized.
The weird thing about knowing people going to college right now is that they do not act like the AI assisted zombies you read massive threads about on here.

this is what it's like peer reviewing papers in any english class. not in politics, but in the middle school level writing and super weak arguments in a university fancier than the one i went to

the three fates for a woman who wears a polo shirt:
1. get mistaken for a man
2. get clocked as a lesbian
3. look like you work at a golf course and get harassed by old white dudes all day

it's been 2.5 years since i moved out of socal and now when i return the sheer obsession over personal image is really jarring to me. bay area may be obsessed with "success" and prestige but your uber driver doesn't have $50k worth of plastic surgery either

problem: cigarettes are ungodly awful for you, but cigarette breaks are really good for productivity, yet you can't just "step outside for a few mins"

solution: just drink so much water you are constantly running to the restroom lmao

i got my girlfriend into baddiecore. my mom listens to baddiecore. my friends listen to baddiecore. you can run from it all you like, but at this exponential rate all you will hear in grocery stores a few years from now will be baddiecore

everyone must move at least a 5 hour drive away from their hometown at least once in their adult lives. you can move back eventually, but so many people have a ton of bad habits and underdeveloped worldviews because they never got the experience of leaving everything behind for a 100% new land.
Do you have any extremely niche, but serious, ethical stances?

it's fascinating how microsoft word has become unusable because of enshittification (in this case: its hyper-insistence on using onedrive at all times and deliberately making it tedious to not use it)

the new taylor album is mid, but it also exposes her worst traits so badly it makes me second-guess my appreciation for her other music. she so badly wants to be sabrina after previously badly wanting to be lana/billie that now i look at folklore/evermore like "was she just jealous of phoebe?"

the only coherent lens i've seen regarding recent violence is "school shootings no longer even make it on the front page, but shooting at the feds in a vaguely political context puts you on headlines for weeks"

there's some discourse happening in metalcore/post-hardcore spaces about the major influx of AI slop bands, some gaining major traction. in one case, an AI slop band (bleeding verse) now has more listeners than the band it is blatantly a copy of (holding absence).
