10 years ago we had a plethora of local newspapers, hundreds of more magazines, many smaller game studios, film slates that covered every genre, much more indie/genre music and no gen ai. Tech consolidation has been apocalyptic.
it’s so weird to look around and realize like, tech and media are materially worse than a decade ago
