I am beginning to see it like this: the Democrats’ leadership may be warming to the that taking Greenland IS good, actually, but they don’t want too much of the stink on them. If they inherit a fait accomplit they don’t want to be on record saying they would give it back.
Extraordinary article from the Secretary General of the Council of Europe. But I’m going to say this again, where are the Democrats saying that any illegal or forced annexation of Greenland will be reversed as soon as they take power. Why aren’t they making this clear www.nytimes.com/2026/01/19/o...

But they‘ll love him even more, and blame Canada for it.
Andrew Nikiforuk: If Trump succeeds in dropping oil prices to $50 a barrel (and who knows what the orange monarch will do next) the Alberta government stands to lose tens of billions.

That means even bigger deficits and a political crisis of enormous proportions. #abpoli #uspoli

Stunning how TV people lack the agility to capitalize on bizarre statements. Respond to “don’t say his name” with: “ICE don’t wear name tags, they hide their faces, you’re insisting we not report the name of an officer who killed a woman. Is ICE now operating as an unaccountable secret police?”
BRENNAN: Tell me about the officer, Jonathan Ross

KRISTI NOEM: Don't say his name! I mean, for heaven's sake, we shouldn't have people continue to dox law enforcement

BRENNAN: His name is public

NOEM: I know, but that doesn't mean it should continue to be said

This is a lie. I was on the Danforth Saturday night, 24 hours after blizzard, & bike lanes were full of snow & car lanes clear. Sidewalks meh. This man makes things up to rage his way into the mayoral office. Tell your not-online friends & fam.
Brad Bradford is using his former bike riding credibility to curry favour w the anti bike folks and become mayor. 'Don't worry I used to ride a bike and I now hate bike lanes too' (for political gain). This guy is the worst.

If this freaks you out, I suggest you write to your MP and the Minister of Health to tell them why.
While the U.S. is actively weakening the FDA, Canada is preparing to stop doing its own drug reviews and defer to foreign regulators.

This is oddly evocative of the coloured tape used at times by soldiers in Ukraine to avoid friendly fire incidents.
Now the actual military has to dress like it’s not the military cuz federal law enforcement agencies dress too much like the military

It seems to me that many of these types are more motivated by disgust for the necessary compromises of democratic government (which they blame on Canada, and pretend they can just wish away) than any real vision for Alberta itself.
• The Parti Quebecois is expected (by the Alberta separatists) to endorse them
• the U.S. would help an indy Alberta set up its military (which would spend 3% of GDP on defence)
• Property taxes would go away
• The explicit goal (at least of one speaker) is for the rest of Canada to break up, too

It’s getting to the point where you read something like this and might reasonably mistake it for a report that Trump has literally ordered an offshore wind farm to be literally torpedoed, literally.
President Trump’s attempts to torpedo offshore wind farms suffered a second blow this week when a federal judge ruled on Thursday that construction for the $5 billion Empire Wind project off Long Island could resume.

When Trump called Somalis “garbage” the only rational analysis is: “this kind of extremely racist rhetoric is highly reminiscent of genocidal regimes”. Yet, unless Trump explicitly says “by the way, I am a huge racist” the most their big media will do is bemusedly ponder what it all might mean.
one of the weirdest things about the current moment is how the national media have to pretend like they don't know what this is about. official government social media accounts are posting about racially cleansing America and they have to pretend like it's not clear who the bad guy is.

Within hours, Adams then drained its liquidity, apparently having scammed investors out of $3.4 million—a move called a rug pull.
