We lost a million people to covid and nothing changed, death is just a number to people now. One more statistic to train yourself to ignore, like carbon emissions or the planned number of Avatar sequels.
If I didn't happen to follow an Iranian artist who posts about it a lot I would not have known that the death toll is approaching 17k

Spent a lot of my vacation working on stuff for my soulslike Mörk Borg campaign and it's been so smooth I'm surprised there isn't a ton more of game content in this vein out there. Gonna have a ton of cool stuff to publish later.

Hearthstone used to rule at this, not just through interesting challenge and light story content but at least (in the old days) the distance between Tier 1 and Tier 3 decks was small enough that it felt you could do a lot with a little, competitively. No idea why Pocket sucks at this so bad.
Gacha games are casinos of sentiment, but that sentiment part is important. It's why the bigger games are running specials and events and promotions and throwing free currency at you every month. You feel like you're getting something. Maybe you'll give something back?

This is the only thing I have ever wanted out of a wargame before and I don't think I've ever gotten it, v intrigued by Scrungaloids!
so fast play gives you a buffer; the game rewards making 'good enough' decisions quickly instead of carefully and exactly measuring out the best ones, but you can still choose to do that if it would be worth it!

they really put Sephiroth, 47 spiders-men, and Azula in Magic only for literally none of them to even be relevant. instead the format is being dominated by an old lady, a weasel, and the bass pro shop pyramid
