The new Laibach song is confusing me... which yeah. It's Laibach but this one is like Confidence Man going commercial. Except still poliitcal? OK, yes. Laibach. It is Laibach. Man 2026 is getting weird all over not just AI.

I have bounced this project from sqlite to postgeesql twice now without any care based on convienince of deployment options I was evaluating. No effort, no pain.

Public activity last month. ~twice my prior high. I'm anticipating it may be the low point for the year.

Trump’s a fascist, but no he didn’t disgrace the National Prayer Breakfast. It *is* a disgrace. Yes it’s “bi-partisan,” if GOP dominated. It is also a private Christian nationalist event produced by an organization tied to 1/2 the dictators of the last 80 years. & literal Nazis.

I was aware of the oddness of Google AI Studio apps. I was unaware export is pointless as you can't run them outside of that environment. Unreal. Oh well, got my prompts out and am moving faster now.

I showed Gas Town to my business partner Rich and he said “oh it's SOAP/WSDL for agents” and I am still processing that.

Several people I know have used the word "beautiful" for this piece, and that's exactly right. A beautifully phrased essay on the bind we're in— until we aren't.

Recommended, in an extreme way.

I wrote about Claude Code and why non-coders should be paying attention (and playing with the system) - it shows what today’s LLMs can do

Along the way I had Claude launch a business for me & build a game that simulates the rise and fall of civilizations. open.substack.com/pub/oneusefu...

ChatGPT told me I'm in the top 3% of users by usage. I have another account. Also that is not the only AI tool I use, my API usage is much higher than chat. I knew I was seeing things differently because of my usage, but damn.

The need for an independent hand analysis has been obvious for a while.
It’s up to him to prove his hand wasn’t removed.
I am determined as God is my witness to start the Trump fake hand conspiracy theory. His hand isn't showing signs of an undisclosed illness. It's a fake painted Halloween costume hand because his hand was already removed. It's time.

There is a market for artisanal furniture, but not nearly as big of one as there is for IKEA mass-produced product. And we are going to need to have the reckoning about our industry getting automated out from under us and artisanal techniques no longer being state of the art or economically viable.

Democrats really scored an own goal with the TikTok ban. The company has gone from being owned by China to being owned by China and Trump allies.

If the concern was TikTok pushing problematic politics, Dems are actually worse off.

Rocky Horror, Wild at Heart, Silence of the Lambs, and Slackers. Circumstances for all private except the last. In Houston near the end of Slackers my buddy leaned over and said “we could finish this or walk outside and live it.” So we left. Never saw the end.
Raising the always fun question: What are your most memorable theater-going experiences?

Mine also include The Matrix, Blair Witch, and being way too stoned in Belgium when Fellowship of the Ring was sold out so we sat in the back row for Mulholland Drive instead.
It was hands-down one of the most memorable theater-going experiences I can remember, a collective 30-minute butt-clench/armrest-grab for the final climb. And we knew he lived! Wild.
