Never made sense that the while Democrats were warning us that Trump would deploy DHS as his private storm troopers, they were passing bills that raised DHS funding to record levels.

Just so it's clear for my delegation (@warren.senate.gov @edmarkey.bsky.social @ayannapressley.bsky.social), I will never again vote for someone who helps appropriate a dollar, not one single cent, for ICE or DHS.

Unfortunately at my age I’ve already been through an entire American war cycle waged by a Republican with Democrats who refused to do their jobs in response.

I’ve forgotten this sometimes but being able to discover something you like, curate it, and make time to enjoy it *is* intelligence, connecting with art is intelligence, empathy is intelligence, the way of the dullard is to find nothing meaningful in art except for a way to seem snidely clever

It goes into that weird thing that genuine appreciation is somehow considered less intellectual than criticism but everybody is getting trained to be such a cynical unfeeling asshole nowadays that I find the smartest people often are the “hell yeah cool song/drawing/story/video” people

It’s such a relief to have primary care that responds to messages, is quick with refills, follows up on test results without having to call a bajillion times, calls back when they say they will, is thorough in their care and looking at your medical history, and listens to you about symptoms

And Bernie isn't calling for Schumer's ouster as leader. And Bernie isn't withholding consent as a procedural obstacle to any nominations

It’s weird how making friendly noises in the direction of socialism makes people forget that he’s a rich old ass white dude, like all the other rich old ass white dudes currently oppressing us, and that he’s just as inclined towards rich old ass white dude class solidarity as any other.

I’ve been a huge Bernie fan since before he ever ran for President and I still respect him but if he can’t bring himself to ask for Chuck to step down, he isn’t being any better than the 8 senators who voted for this. I won’t put any politician on a pedestal.

Really. You're going to tell us what to do?

We're the ones paying the bill.
Whose lives are on the line.
Who are being abducted and deported.
Who keep showing up to fight ICE
We are the 7+ million who showed up and then voted

Get rid of Schumer.
Clean your house, get it in order, then listen.

The model of holding individual senators responsible is broken here. The retirees clearly agreed to take the fall. Which is why the nos should get no credit for voting no unless they move to oust Schumer

This deal to reopen the government is fucking disgraceful.

Tens of millions will lose their healthcare. Trump will be emboldened.

This is exactly what’s wrong with Democratic Party leadership and why we need more people in Congress who will actually hold the line.
