🧵I do my noncooperation threads bc I know most of it gets lost in the news firehose. I know courage is contagious & that we have to en-courage each other.

And/but: We're at the stage of the fight where wins are small & often temporary. Each small win matters, &/but it may be like this for years.

Stories of failed arrests due to community response are inspiring. There's been great legal work to free people, too. But this stuff is mostly a brief flash of unmarked cars, and then somebody's gone. Over and over again. No matter how many people are eager to help and want better than this.

Can I tell you a secret? I don't care if there are undocumented immigrants in this country. I think it's a non-issue. Without social security numbers they're not getting the welfare people claim they're getting, the vast majority of them are normal people trying to live a better life.
This whole wall deport-the-illegals bullshit is just the one percent convincing the working poor to blame a subset of the working poor for the fact that they're all poor, instead of realizing they're all poor due to vast income inequality and resource price inflation in combination with wage stagnation.
The existence of another poor person is not why you're poor. It's because the people who control everything refuse to increase your wages.

The remnants of Typhoon Halong battered western Alaska overnight. Homes, with people in them, have literally been swept into the Bering Strait.

At least 20 are missing. No comment from any federal agency.

Part of the problem is Neo-Liberal economics; "hyper unrestrained capitalism". @georgemonbiot.bsky.social and Joseph Stiglitz both recently wrote books about it and I was educated about policies I did not know, were formal polices.
