It’s wild how much media attention this has gotten when the confidence interval is so large. You might as well just say ‘we don’t know anything and we’re looking into it’ if the range is somewhere between .5x and 10x!

The abolition of ICE is now the bare minimum.

The execution of Renee Nicole Good lays bare the necessity of a full reckoning with the systems of violence and oppression.

These structures are beyond reform, they require revolution.

Between the statements coming out AWS, Microsoft, and Salesforce, I think that "correction" I've been saying would come for years in the "AI" business consumer market is coming this year as the big boys learn AI doesn't replace humans

"AaaS" I like to call it
And it started long before Apple Silicon

Poverty is a policy choice. Concentrated wealth is a policy choice. Inequality is a policy choice. None of it is natural or inevitable. Remember: We have the power to build a system that serves the many, not the powerful few.

Bernie Sanders: "We need to be thinking seriously about a moratorium on data centers. You gotta slow this process down. It's not good enough for the oligarchs to tell us 'you adapt.' Are they gonna guarantee healthcare to all people? What are they gonna do when there are no jobs? Make housing free?"

The thesis of the book is that early COVID lockdowns weren't worth it and mid-COVID mitigation measures like masks, contact tracing and business closures don't work.

This is laughably false and the authors have endorsed the people now running Trump's HHS.

Everyone involved in the publication and promotion of this book should be embarrassed. It's not a "harsh truth" that COVID mitigation was a mistake, it's ghoulish and false.

We're listening to a podcast about a certain famous liar and the lies that are so absurd yet so nuanced that it doesn't make sense to lie about and I'm like ok if you are gonna lie about it you'd say this

Kayla: "ok you practice lying I'm gonna go to my appointment"

Had me in stitches

Thinking about TikToks of people doing dumb things while the poster records and comments and there's always one that's like

"Back in the day we put down the camera to help"

And I have to point out if they put down the camera to help there's no video for you to see

It makes it worse and anyone who suggests it has just proven they are not an authority on the subject

It's basic kitchen physics

You used to use it all the time
