36-year old woman and unborn baby killed riding ebike on Pershing Drive in Playa del Rey, where bike lanes removed in 2017 - BikinginLA
Apparently, last month isn’t done with us yet. And it ends with perhaps the worst news of all. After a month that had already seen seven people lose their lives riding a bicycle in Southern California...

May we all find our Costco hotdogs in these trying times
Recently began tracking my stress levels and this notable dip in stress is so funny to me because that’s when I was at Costco getting a hotdog.

Hey Zohran would you like to be mayor of baltimore as well? we have some bike lanes that need plowing and also every crosswalk in the core has a 5 ft glacier preventing anyone who actually lives here from crossing the street because suburban motorists are more important than actual residents i guess

Right, so. My normal bus and the next bus on that route were both cancelled this morning. And the bus that I use as a backup was also cancelled. Digging out my car is effectively not an option when I'm trying to *leave for work* and the bike lanes are all still buried. Off to a banner start today

Okay so I was actually at this encounter, filmed the aftermath, and am briefly visible in this video, and I would point out that what he does here is briefly kick a car twice. ICE beats him up, shoots pepper balls into the crowd, and launches tear gas at everyone else before leaving.
News Movement posted this video of Alex Pretti on Jan 13, showing him spitting at ICE agents and kicking their taillight.

Now conservatives are suggesting this changes things.

That would mean they are suggesting he deserved to be target of an extrajudicial execution.

The video changes nothing.

The bus makes our region a more accessible place, including during nasty winter weather. Icy berms, however, cancel out much of that accessibility.
Who is responsible for unburying the bus stops?

This. The quickness and efficiency of the operation does not change its illegality.
RAND PAUL: If a country bombed our air defense missiles, captured & removed our president, & blockaded our country, would that be considered an act of war?

RUBIO: We just don't believe this operation comes anywhere close to the constitutional definition

PAUL: Of course it would be an act of war!

Very little if anything seems to have changed on the ground. ICE is still out there terrorizing neighborhoods and trying to disappear neighbors. None of us on the ground are buying this bullshit. We will keep organizing and fighting.
The intense fallout from the killing of Alex Pretti has forced President Trump to publicly change course in Minneapolis.

Listen to our White House reporters discuss the changes on today's episode of "The Daily."

The car people just pointing their car at the snow bank and calling it good is fucking wild. My bus had to swerve around a bunch of cars that are just parked in the travel lane on Broadway (detoured from its normal route already presumably for a snow-related issue)

This is tyranny. No free people can accept this kind of government. We need to bring an end to the Trump regime.
