part of this is like, conservatives projecting; part of this is conservatives unable to imagine politics without money; and part of this is dudes who are so out of touch with feminized labor that they think children's birthday parties exist as a spontaneous act of parthogenesis
I mostly just stay off Twitter altogether but after double checking that the Walter Hudson post was still up I ran across this and just had to share so the Romancelandians who bought hand warmers could hear about the PROFESSIONAL GRADE LOGISTICS.

We're horrified & outraged: Immigration agents have once again committed cold-blooded murder of a public observer who posed no threat to them.

This time, they've executed a fellow nurse, Alex Pretti. We demand justice and accountability. Abolish ICE, now! https://bit.ly/4big77u

Alex J. Pretti was a member of AFGE Local 3669, according to a statement brought by AFGE.

The murder of a union member is only likely to increase calls for a general strike.

Genuinely the only thing keeping me going—but it really is keeping me going—is how good it is to see people link arms and push for this to end.

I cannot stop thinking about how much love people can have for their neighbors, and how much work and money is poured into breaking that love apart.

You could actually structure your moral code around the idea that law enforcement doesn't exist to execute people. You don't have to create perfect victim narratives, you can just refuse to accept that the state gets to kill people.

He's directing traffic. He steps inbetween ICE and two women who are being harrassed by them (one of whom was shoved to the ground for no reason), raises his hands and turns away from them and says "Okay! Okay!" to indicate he isn't going to be aggressive, at which point they start with pepper spray
He was helping direct traffic when federal authorities approached him. Less than a minute later he was dead.

The people who'll tell you today's murder victim in Minnesota shouldn't have turned up to a protest carrying a gun are the same people who said Kyle Rittenhouse was perfectly entitled to do the same thing.

"people do not jump from anger straight into a strike...successful campaigns use repeated, escalating 'structure tests.' Small collective risks taken together. Visible proof that 'we can do this.' Each test builds confidence, discipline, organization—the muscle memory required when the stakes rise."
General strikes can have a tremendous impact, but to succeed they require an organized majority, networks of solidarity and resources to weather repression, writes Daniel Hunter. #iceout
What’s it going to take to get to mass strikes?

it's easy to blame rubes in flyover country for the nation's current predicament, but the fact of the matter is that a lot of it is down to years and years of elite moral and epistemic derangement, elite cowardice, and elite failure to overcome the collective action problem
it's cool that so many people in positions of power and influence were so negatively polarized by "wokeness" that they convinced themselves that there was an actual debate about who wanted to erase history and the "wokes" were on the wrong side bsky.app/profile/arch...

This is the way. Any 2028 Dem candidates need to start saying that on Day One: (1) all ICE agents fired; (2) pensions/benefits defunded; (3) forced to pay backpay as restitution to victims; and (4) only way to avoid prison is to become a cooperating informant
Maybe instead of identifying specific ICE agents who do particularly heinous things, we could just penalize everyone who was on payroll at the agency starting by a certain date.
