I was just talking to a friend about the issues with FIDE and the state of the "World Chess Champion" and how tournaments are presented and run in top chess ... and I realized I was basically just saying Jukido points from WMAC Masters ... but about chess ...

I gotta shout out @sorenbowie.bsky.social who noted in front of this whole Sam Altman "How do I parent" hilarity how just kid raising books in general were so hilariously condescending to men vs. women. e.g. comparing to food sizes and reminding like "their heads are delicate, don't drop them."

I find it amusing that in Sci-Fi the belief is -- humans would never consider computers sentient -- e.g., "Measure of a Man" in Star Trek TNG, when the reality is the flipside -"No, your toaster isn't alive because it asked you if you wanted it extra crispy!"

I'm shocked there's not a good gif of either Tom Hardy fighting in this movie (ok, not that shocked, as discussed, it didn't do that hot in the box office) or from "The Dark Knight Rises" to use to describe me and Jeff arguing the subtext of Tommy's actions.
