I believe the big bang happens repeatedly, like a heartbeat. I'm another one of those bass-playing (https://nathanielflick.bandcamp.com/album/when-the-wolf) software designers (nathanielflick.com) who believes in accessibility and inclusion for all.

It's been a year since I released my first album on Bandcamp and it's inspired some of my friends to get their albums out too. I'm humbled by that! Have a listen if you're so inclined: nathanielflick.bandcamp.com/album/when-t...

I am not upgrading my iPhone to v26 until they denounce Glass. What a dumpster fire.

Companies are forgetting they did everything remotely and didn’t need office spaces during covid.

We’re doing our annual Xmas fundraiser and we need around $8000 so if you could pop $ in, + share, that would help greatly

If I hear “but what about the billionaires” one more time when the idea of taxing them properly is floated. They hoard their money and don’t pay tax because they live on bank loans.

It is still bandcamp friday in some timezones. Check out Lukes 16 albums & maybe listen to a few albums free.

Before the War is a great song based on a poem by Iranian writer.

Have my step dad’s memorial today on zoom. Will get to hear from so many people whose lives were positively impacted by him.

I got AI to help me understand the current AI situation (is it a bubble or not):

"Here's what makes this moment weird: AI can simultaneously be not a bubble and still represent peak growth for certain tech sectors. Why? Because AI is destroying as much as it's creating."

if you use google apps for domains — this still applies!

i did that thing where i went to tech support and made them turn off gemini for the entire organization

my work gmail still had this shitty "AI" scanning feature enabled today
If you use GMail, AI (Gemini) was turned on yesterday by default and now scans all of your content for machine learning. To turn off, go to Settings>General and scroll down. Uncheck the box for "Smart features."

There's other "Smart" add-ons as well, but that's the one that reads your content.

I had this discussion with Claude yesterday, and it seems to default to Junior dev meaning it does not test its own code. It will now behave like a senior plus testing its own code before giving it to me.
This has been my last 3 weeks at work. We’ve been mandated to use Claude.ai for some of my UX design systems work and it’s literally like having a toddler as a junior engineer but without the tantrums.

Let's amplify the good and crush those government fuckers.

I've managed to deploy my code to github, very stoked! Took a minute, but I got Claude to act like a senior dev instead of a novice (it admitted as much) to help me debug and get it over the line. Fun! #uxdesign #designerwhocodes

With all this talk of asset sales, shouldn't the current coalition be trying to increase rather than decrease the value of those services?

I highly recommend doing a google search on your name and reporting any incorrect images. I have noticed it creates AI images for things like my LinkedIn profile. Dumb.

Figma Make is amazing, gets rid of the Prototype Noodles (manually wiring up individual mockups). I do realise Figma stole Sketch's UI, which to me feels a bit dodgy.
