Yep you can almost remove the glass effect, pretty close, but not entirely, in Accessibility settings.

I am avoiding this update forever until it gets reverted. It's inaccessible, horribly designed, and not just because of the colour contrast but the lack of spacing detail on pages for lists and accordions.
