Choose 20 comics that have stayed with you or influenced you.
One comic per day for 20 days, in no particular order.
No explanations, no reviews, just covers.

This is such an odd book. It's like Old Man Logan in that it's a future / What If / elseworlds type story where Wolverine is one of the few to survive a horrible event. He then sets off on a mission of, well, revenge.

I'll hold final judgement until issue 4, but so far, it's OK.

Hard agree.

The speed that developers can write code is rarely the main impediment to poor software delivery velocity.

The DORA report has told us for 10 years now what works - Automate everything you can, grant people the psychological safety to fail without being fired, and keep it simple
Google recently released the 2024 Accelerate State of DevOps (DORA) report, and there were some holy shit moments in those 120 pages. Or–to phrase it more professionally–this year’s report has some very interesting and counterintuitive findings.

Holy crap! Sports Night had a laugh track. Sorkin with a laugh track is like some bizar meta comedy. I didn’t remember that at all. ABC totally didn’t understand what it was they had.

The result of my re-watch of The West Wing during the run up to the election is that I’m back back to re-watching almost anything written by Sorkin.

Ok. Posting something I find funny. It’s from the old place and I’m attempting some form of attribution.

Anyways, thought it was time to poke @networkingnerd.net early this year.

Why am I not at Kubecon, you ask? Maybe I’ll be there next year.

The time away helped me to think more about my mental health and how to show up for myself.

Ran into this myself. This isn’t how it always behaved. I’m fairly certain I’ve listed to music on my iPhone without any network connection. Is it trying to phone home for DRM or something along those lines?
Amazon Music has an option to download, I’ve used it a lot when working in the mountains with no service. I’ve made a few playlists and downloaded them entirely with no issue.

The service itself is annoyingly always pushing podcasts though

Are you at Devcom #ddc2024? Want to hear about how Google Cloud combines it's open source projects and it's products to build out backends for global multiplayer games?

If so, Come to my talk on Monday! It's only 20 minutes! I promise, it will be fun!

Creating a Global-Scale Game with Google Cloud (Presented by Google Cloud)
Google Cloud provides incredible flexibility when building out a gaming backend. With its slew of open source projects like Agones, Open Match, Quilkin, combined with Google Cloud products like Google Kubernetes Engine, Spanner, Cloud Build, Cloud Deploy and more you can build exactly the backend platform that fits your studio and game. But that also means that there are also a lot of options to choose from! Would you like to see how Google Cloud itself would build out a production, global scale multiplayer game using its own variety of open source projects and hosted products? Then this presentation is for you! In this talk we’ll step you through the architecture of the open source “Global Scale Demo”. We’ll discuss each of the aspects of the project, discuss why each item was chosen for each layer and tradeoffs therein, starting from the Terraform to setup the infrastructure all the way through deploying game services and servers with Continuous Integration and Deployment.
