The Super Bowl is a window into how much the U.S. economy has changed. I remember when it was mostly ads for cars, beer and stuff you’d find in the grocery store. Now it’s all AI, gambling, crypto (also gambling) and Ozempic.

In 2016, when Post reporter Jason Rezaian was freed after spending 1.5 years in Iranian prison, Jeff Bezos personally flew him back on his private plane. Bezos used it as a photo op.

Now, Bezos is leaving people he laid off overseas in a lurch.

i'm so sick of people doing gymnastics to absolve this evil, racist, incompetent, grifter from the things he only regrets when mass pushback happens
NEW STORY: Trump admits he was the one who found the video and asked that it be posted from his Truth Social account. Refuses to apologize.

The entire 2016 campaign was defined by the media's outrage over Hillary's use of a private email server. In 2026, a high ranking government official's use of an encrypted app to avoid scrutiny as he sends ICE goons around the nation is a one day story. YOUR MAINSTREAM MEDIA 🙃

Incoherence aside, notable that he tries to pivot from his administration’s lawless killing at home to his administration’s lawless killing abroad—the latter of which he evidently views as a “win.”
Trump: I hate even talking about ICE. 2 people out of tens of thousands and you get bad publicity.

Host: But it was 2 Americans who died—

Trump: We have the smallest trucks. We've been very tough on the waters

Host: The waters?

Trump: The waters where we knock out boats

Expanding upon this, something I’m not yet seeing discussed about today’s Post news is how it further consolidates the power of the New York Times to set the national narrative. I hope you trust Joe Kahn’s editorial judgment because it is as close to monoculture in news as you can get now.
I cannot think of a person whose take on this I care about less. My dude your job is to cover the administration and the political culture that created the conditions of a bleak day like today before it happens, not post what you think is pretty prose after it’s a fait accompli.

Elon Musk, the wealthiest man alive, spent $290 million to elect Trump.

Since Election Day, Musk became $548 billion richer while his companies (SpaceX & Tesla) paid $0 in federal income taxes last year after making $13.7 billion in profits.
