The DOJ is not even trying to hide that it functions as Trump's personal law firm

Starting to feel like we should be calling these the Trump Files?

What was actually running and funding this operation?

We've released 30,000 pieces of evidence. Some of them are fake. Which ones, and how do we know that? Ah sorry you're breaking up

If they had any credibility before it's fully gone now that they're openly doing crisis PR for the president. Still funny that the best they could come up with is "The evidence you're about to see is fake"

This is as easy a test of your belief in the American system as is conceivable: Should this be an acceptable argument from a president?

Per WaPo: The new batch of Epstein docs were available for several hours Monday on DOJ's website but appeared to have been taken down around 8pm.

The docs were reposted just before midnight. It was not immediately clear whether further redactions of the documents had been made.
BREAKING: A new drop of Epstein files has several mentions of Trump.

There are notes from an assistant U.S. attorney in New York about the number of times Trump flew on Epstein's plane — including one flight that included just Trump, Epstein and a 20-year-old woman, according to the notes.
Second big batch of Epstein files includes many mentions of Trump
After a first batch of Epstein document had few mentions of President Donald Trump, the Justice Department disclosed thousands more with many references to the president.

a suicide note whose existence and content federal authorities appear to have concealed for years while conspiracy theories about Epstein’s death in their custody raged out of control
DOJ briefly uploaded this letter from Jeff Epstein to serial child molester Larry Nassar:

"Our president shares our love of young, nubile girls. When a young beauty walked by he loved to 'grab snatch,' whereas we ended up snatching grub in the mess halls of the system."

As we all knew, there is no justifiable reasons for these redactions.
Ok. Now had a chance to check and, well, at least some docs do appear to be straight up classic redaction fail. And there are some *interesting* bits here.

Lawrence O’Donnell’s MSNOW show has 2 Epstein survivors blasting DOJ for failing to properly redact names, leaving some survivors‘ identities newly revealed. They suspect DOJ’s top priority is to protect other people — not the survivors. “We’re being re-traumatized by our government.”

When I teaching the Holocaust I note the Holocaust museum’s definition of a concentration camp is a prison whose inmates are denied due process. These are by definition concentration camps.
These are concentration camps. No other way to describe them. Truly horrific, and none of it surprising in the least.
30 minutes. Some deportees described sexual assault. Detainee describes the guard sexually assaulting most detainees. Lights left on all day. Prisoners not given clean water.

Now the DHS tour. Nobody spoke to the detainees. Noem's video was in a different area of the prison.

I don’t mean to sound extreme, but I don’t think we should have torture camps for people with criminal records either.

So, uh, it certainly looks like DOJ intended to file a letter to Judge Liman in MTA v. Duffy, but….it accidentally filed a letter containing its legal advice to the Department of Transportation instead

Yes, CECOT is a concentration camp in the guise of a prison. The Venezuelans were the first people to *ever* be released from CECOT since Bukele opened the prison in January 2023. Seriously. The first.

Polygraphs are junk science. But polygraphs are an effective "prop" used by trained interrogators.

An unelected bureaucrat developing a sudden interest in raw intel from a controlled access program is the kind of thing that makes career intel people very suspicious. And for good reason.
