My main characters, Elana and Jerome, love their sentient house, Oula. They feel loved there because they are together and because their sentient house protects them and literally loves them back.

This is a close-up portrait I took of Pyewacket, my blue-grey mink ragdoll. He is peeking from a grey carpet-lined hole in the top bed of our cat tree. With blue eyes staring into the camera, his white whiskers and creamy, smokey, fluffy, grey-striped hair plumes around his sweet face. I asked him for this photo, and he was very pleased with it. Yes, I showed it to him, and he gave this image a slow blink. When I announced the opening is now called a Pye hole, he smiled. This portrait inspired my haiku for today: bright nexus warm cat tree presents a Pye hole

I don’t do well with challenges in any month. Between multiple ongoing writing projects and a genetic aversion to deadlines, I don't do well with them. Each time I’ve tried in the past, I have flamed out miserably within a week.
