After that, bookmarks, keychains, official maps, & prints of all sizes.
If I could get backing for it, some animated series and/or movies wouldn’t be out of the question either…

In FoR, Ford & his sisters keep a small flock of ducks, primarily for their eggs.
Due to their village's location in Hilderic's expansive pine forests, removing dead needles & collecting firewood are also fairly common chores throughout the year.

My biggest low was definitely getting my job offer that brought me north rescinded due to a hiring freeze. That definitely set my plans back some years.
Still, I'm trying to make what I can of it even in a job where some folks just don't like me...

Most realms take child care seriously, as children are often seen as sacred & represent society's future.
Elders, however, tend to get mixed treatment. More progressive realms tend to care more about their treatment while others may ignore them.

The Garden of Levot is probably one of my more complete WIPs. It definitely takes a lot of inspiration from Atlantis: The Lost Empire, with a little Six of Crows thrown in for good measure.

Family is a huge part of Livorian society, so familial legacies are treasured.
After the Faumen War, House Travaldi is one of the most respected in the realm. This continues for generations, even after the name changes to Arvaldi in the AR 1200s.

Inheritence in most Nixtralian realms tends to lean heavily towards the eldest child, regardless of gender.
However, the majority of realms have cheap methods of having wills made which can help divvy up an estate among all the named heirs.

My all-time favorite Christmas song is We Three Kings. There’s just something about the melody that sends shivers down my spine.

However, there’s a few (Like Garnet and the Big Bad of Originborne) who have been through some pretty rough waters that shaped them into who they become.

Keeping in line with yesterday’s prompt, Garnet had a loving relationship with her family and was happily married to a successful merchant with a young son.
Then tragedy struck, leaving Garnet a bitter, angry soul…

Besides the obvious, I’d definitely say stuff like bookmarks, journals, or even an Audible subscription.

Most of my MC's have good relationships w/ their families. Ford stands out as having an especially good relationship with his sisters.
Despite being the youngest of the 3, Ford is quite protective of Juni & Karina, working hard to support them.

Don't really have anything I'm looking to read by the end of the year. If anything, I'll be working on my TBR list for 2026 while deciding whether or not I'm going to try to move to a better apartment situation.

What is your MC's job and do they actually enjoy what they do? What about their job attracts them to it? As always, my answer is below! ⬇️

Of all my OCs, Osvald is probably the most likely to push himself past his limits.
While many Norzen can use plant magic, Osvald is a bit of an outcast for his ability to wield fire. After meeting Veldi, he pushes himself hard to better control it out of a desire to protect her.
How is your character at knowing their limits?
Do they understand their flaws and work around them? Push through to their detriment? Completely overestimate themselves?
Do they improve or get worse in time?

Reproductive rights vary greatly depending on the realm. More progressive nations like Livoria have very lenient laws on issues like abortion, the only legal requirement being that women should be medically cleared by an apothecary before treatment.

I'd have to go with Santa on this one. As much as I love the lore surrounding Krampus, I do prefer Santa's wholesome energy during the holiday season.

Most realms have single family units, though it's growing more common for these to include polycule groupings.
While it's not *rare*, per se, for there be multiple generations in a home, it's not common as most homes include parents & children only.

The Faumen War Chronicles takes place over an entire year, with each book taking place during a different season:
Oaths of Life and Death - Autumn
Conquering Shadows - Spring
Ballad's End - Summer

Astronomy is a highly respected profession in Nixtral. In fact, 2 of my OCs are in the field!
Veldi's baby sister Cordelia is a new astronomer doing extended study at the Citadel. Lysander of BWA studies the stars as part of his work as a navigator.
