Tapper has spent the better part of two and a half years legitimizing this kind of rhetoric with how he's used his cable television news slot but wants to act like Fine is now suddenly beyond the pale.

Remember that Tapper *made up a quote* from Tlaib but has never said anything on CNN about Fine.

Has anyone in the Epstein Files who didn’t do anything wrong been punished? Maybe someone who was at a meeting Epstein was at. Never went to the island, didn’t get money from him, nor had a bunch of friendly emails.

Anyone get arrested, fired, etc.? Because moral panics feature that sort of thing.

The bravery Marimar Martinez has shown in fighting the very federal government that tried to execute her to make it possible for all of us to see these messages is “name an elementary school after you” level of hero status.
Hours after Border Patrol agent Charles Exum shot Marimar Martinez five times, Gregory Bovino emailed him to ask he continue working past retirement:

"In light of your excellent service in Chicago, you have much yet left to do!!" he wrote.

Yes. I was heartened to see all Senate Dems vote to cut the ICE budget back to 2024 numbers (didn’t pass)…but that’s still $12B a year for an ethnic cleansing paramilitary force.

As w/ many things, trying futilely to restore an old violent, bigoted system is a nonstarter. We need new, just systems.
Political buy-in for ICE--and brutal immigration policy more generally--is bipartisan, with Democrats regularly supporting massive expenditures that help target vulnerable folks looking for a better life.
