Well, that's your name, isn't it? Charlie Brown?

It's written all over your underwear.
My name is Maximus Decimus Meridius, commander of the Armies of the North, General of the Felix Legions, loyal servant to the true emperor, Marcus Aurelius, father to a murdered son, husband to a murdered wife, and I will have my vengeance, Charlie Brown, in this life or the next.
I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched c-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser gate.

all those moments will be lost in time. like tears in rain.

time to die, Charlie Brown

One of my current conspiracy theories is that the Tech Billionaries (TM) are more or less trying to set up Trump as a Girardian scapegoat.

This is both because they're crazy and also because Biden had started not-so-gently telling them to sit the fuck down.

I think a good angle to see the anti-tool thing is also that chat AIs present as *subjects* not *objects*.

Funnily, the initial iteration ("base models") were pure autocomplete/tool-like and flopped.

But I reckon brain does not even activate tool use regions with chat LLMs. Would make nice study
You can think of it like an anti-tool, one that actually destroys your ability to solve a problem. That actively makes it impossible to learn from solving problems how to solve new problems.

Gun to the head if I had to say why Trump is so fixated on the Epstein files shit is not because of some terrible deed above and beyond what is already implied, but because there's a nude somewhere in there where he's shown to have a small dick or some similar physical feature he's obsessed with.

A man collapsed in the Oval Office yesterday. The internet got the story wrong.

My experience struggling to correct the record — including on Bluesky! — and the warning signs as AI, aggregation, and social media increasingly drive our news consumption.

Billionaire discourse in the US has gotten so stupid.

"Elon is richest guy to even walk the Earth."

Elon owns assets producing ~1.2B/year after corp tax (TSLA net profits X Elon's share)

Let's try Warren Buffet.

Warren Buffet owns assets producing ... checks notes ... ~13.5B/year after corp tax.

Can we all just now admit that over 20 years on from the September 11 attacks on the Twin Towers, Osama bin Laden definitively won the the ‘war on terror’. The US is now demonstrably weaker, more divided, animated by more strident extremism, and governed by their own version of the Taliban.

Got caught into it as "nerds and adjacent nerds discuss getting laid on the Internet in a nerdy way" and felt very hurt finding out that it's just a giant psyops/moneymaking scheme.

easy peasy advice for getting laid, you have 2 robust options:

1: be incredibly beautiful and charismatic

2: cater to sexual obsessions common to other lunatics. cling to each other in shared mania, in darkness.

Seeing a lot of "anti anarchism from the left" ("one does not simply churn butter" etc) and the defeatism is kinda lulzy, especially coming from USians.

Not just people did this in living memory but modern science and tech can make these lifestyles *very* easy to sustain.

At least 50 pct of the current shitshow comes down in a straight line from Apple's shit tier aesthetic going mainstream, but yall ain't ready for that conversation.

The secretive cult like shit, the messianic leader, the walled gardens, the "it's simple if you do as we say", it's all in there.

What "Abundance liberals" think "Abundance mindset" means: hey let's build 800 monorails and go to Mars because we can

What "Abundance mindset" would actually look like, if it wasn't a made up dog whistle: OMG look at these supermarket shelves, we have so much of all we need, let's end poverty NOW

Hey, just a quiet reminder: it’s not true that people get more conservative as they age. *Populations* get more conservative as they age because poor and marginalized people die sooner.

Seniors Are More Conservative Because the Poor Die Off
Sometimes older voters aren’t just naturally more conservative. It’s just that wealthier and whiter people tend to live longer and healthier lives.
