My theory is that it's actually the lighting of most hotel rooms that is extremely inadequate for eating, although it manifest as synesthesia.

One thing that often works with creamy preparations that come out too runny, if you don't have time to let them sit for a few hours, just delicately put the whole thing into a strainer and then "scrape" the strainer with a spatula (do not push). Water comes out and creaminess increases.

And I've visited in cities in China in my youth where it's this shit day in day out, 15 days in you just want to die. this absolutely impacts overall well being much _more_ than producing nice cars or whatever definition "material prosperity" you have there probably equating with "producing widgets"
November 19, 2025 at 2:53 PM
In what way "being able to see the sun raising and setting" is not material prosperity? I come from a place where in the aftermath of a massive environmental crisis 15y ago, the whole fucking place is _still_ littered in a way no other 1st World country is. I promise you it _is_ a material thing.

Did you ever hear the tragedy of Darth Product Manager the Unwise, and his disciple Jaded Frontend Developer who Just Wanted to Book His Hours and Go Home

Or is this a "but those are not <<American>> pizzas" kind of deal.

Then its like Trump ostentatiously eating fucking McDonald's, its a pseudo reality that existed in ads and maybe for a little while when industrialised, standardised, processed food was a big fad. But US cuisine is not Domino's lol
November 19, 2025 at 9:43 AM
Good as in "Im from Naples and this is a French town and I order their takeaway once per week", whereas Idistinctly remeber a time where getting pizza anywhere north of the the Tiber was tantamount to suicide.
November 19, 2025 at 9:37 AM
This is particularly weird. I haven't been in the US for a while, but recently in Europe pizza quality skyrocketed because of Southern Italy microdiaspora in the wake of 2011 Euro crisis. Like every mid sized town has a good pizza place. Is this just an Europe thing?

BTW domino's was always shit.

Possibly worse still, when they saw the masters of the algos that made them, these little mindsh couldn't help but prostrate, hence the endless legitimisation of SV kookery.

I used to look at the blog/MySpace era nostalgically but really the entire mindspace of humanity is is still reeling from the impact of tiny little minds like Noah Smith somehow grabbing relevance through Internet exposure.

This is so intellectually goofy. Islamogauchisme is a French "thing". I guess he's misdirecting to UK to hide the real origin of the idea?

It also literally barely exists as a thing in real life, and only because in France all parties but extreme left denied Gaza genocide for 2 years straight lol.

To be noted that median-voter thing only holds for 0D policy/preference space or 1D policy/preference space _under ranked choice voting_, which means it's essentially irrelevant to FPTP systems anyway.

Just adding a bit of color here but the net equity flows have been essentially flat, its the differential of the US vs RoW equity returns on the _existing_ equity stock that ballooned yhe NIIP.

To be noted that in general a man's opinion of what age of women he's attracted to is perfectly useless in the same way a man's opinion concerning "intensity of makeup" is.

Men just dont know anything about this stuff and their self reported preference is just funny.

Signed, a man.

They like them under some sort of duress and they like them cheap, "biology" my ass lmao.
November 16, 2025 at 10:45 PM
Like I really think the perfect case for this is Gaetz, they found he paid 90k$ overall for girls and drugs but the 17yo girl was just 400$ or something.

I'm not even against prostitution at all but the whole thing is like exactly why age of consent is a thing, nothing to do with "biology".
November 16, 2025 at 10:44 PM
Every study I'm aware of says that most men (older AND younger) are mostly attracted to early/mid twenties women.

Also eg beauty pageant girls tend to look noticeably older than their age.

I really think the only angle here is financial exploitation and incels taking bullets for millionaires.

Essentially OpenAI is transparently selling quackery as as service and they should be brought to heel in these matters with the full force of the law pronto, under pain of rolling up their entire operation.

Unfortunately regulators are fully asleep at the wheel.

Most important thing: the machine is not popular cuz it's more informed but because it's less laconic, more dramatic, more sycophantic than virtually any doctor cuz the latter are trained strongly against the latter.

To make a "good" machine you'd make one nobody wants.
