21. And before team Yglesias responds by saying "yeah, but it's bad politics to run on climate and energy"... I'd point out that I've won 4 elections in a very purple district running on climate and energy. Pro-tip: leadership is possible! You don't have to be stupid to win!

One piece of parenting info that no one ever gave me is that if your (young) kid is not usually a jerk, and they’re being a jerk, and they’re not hungry or overtired, and there’s no other readily apparent explanation, they are almost certainly getting sick

NEW: Without USAID funding to help buy food for refugees, the World Food Program rushed to prioritize families based on need, determining that only half the population would get food.

Refugees learned which half they were in from a number stamped on the back of their ration card.

There probably is *something* interesting to be written about the impacts of targeted hiring in shrinking industries, but the people who try it are almost always bitter about how things have gone for them and looking for a scapegoat, and it comes through in their writing

Wait is he microdosing ketamine? That *is* stupid, since the best evidence is that if anything you need quite a high dose to get a therapeutic effect.

Microdosing is for psychedelics that are also stimulants, and even that is controversial
Wiles is frank in startling, historically significant ways. She assessed
-VP has been a “conspiracy theorist” for a decade
-the OMB Director is an absolute zealot”
-Musk microdosed, as an “avowed ketamine user”
-Trump operates with “a view that there’s nothing he can’t do. Nothing, 0, nothing.”

Man I just went back to this thread and I am baffled. What is the insult supposed to even *be*? Dicking around is wasting time. You are, on some level, wasting time here! We all are! That’s cool though, because if you try to use all your time “productively” you will go insane.
What are we doing here if *not* dicking around, exactly? Awful lot of people posting during business hours and presumably being paid to do something else
