Simon Harris says he wants to put an age restriction on social media use jrnl.ie/6943843

The government that won't stop posting from a website that permits CSAM suddenly cares about children again; I don't think that's very believable.
Simon Harris says he wants to put an age restriction on social media use
“I think social media is almost experimenting with the minds, the brains, of children, and that can’t be tolerated,” he said.

Videos from Gaza show huge explosions as Israeli air attacks hit a building in Gaza City and tents in al-Mawasi.

Gaza’s Government Media Office says more than 500 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli forces since a US-brokered ceasefire came into effect on October 10.

Margot Robbie is wearing Mughal queen Nur Jahan's necklace. It was gifted by her husband King Jahangir (r. 1605-1627), Akbar's son. Cartier acquired it (harummmph). Cartier's president later gifted it to Liz Taylor..blah blah.

In case this goes over some heads, the 'black and tans' were Britain's paramilitary police in Ireland during the War of Independence.

After years of burning out whole towns and murdering innocent people, many went straight to Palestine to do the very same, preparing the way for Israeli takeover.
This cartoon is just over one hundred years old.

When people voted No to the EU Nice treaty changes 25 years ago the Govt. said it thought we were worried about EU military entanglements.
So to reassure us, they pledged to keep that law in place.
A pledge they repeated after the next EU treaty No in 2008.
They've decided to break their word.

Ah for feck's sake. My thoughts are with everyone getting hit by this. We've been warned about this for decades, and it's going to get worse. The government really needs to get its arse in gear.

Seven counties are under a renewed rainfall warning until tonight, with Met Éireann warning of a heightened risk of further flooding.

Forecasters say many rivers are already at or above bank level, meaning even small amounts of additional rain could have significant impact.

A lot of folk still don’t know that Aramark own (super fancy) Avoca, as well as providing food services for Direct Provision Centres. Very easy not to go to Avoca, I reckon. Public opinion got them out of NGI, after all.
Pretty much every story you hear about prisoners and ICE kidnap victims being fed rotten and bug-infested food, the company that is serving them that food is either Aramark or Trinity Services Group

Agreed.
We need to get real. Met Éireann is not to blame for flooding damage - poor planning, building on flood plains, not implementing over 20 years of remedial action are. We were warned decades ago winter rain would increase, but continued doing nothing and built on space needed for water #spéirghorm
