More than likely there are hundreds of threats to call ICE on undocumented partners every year, and that this has increased recently. The border is at once political and intimate.
This article heavily implies that ICE is being used in a custody dispute to help Karoline Leavitt's brother get his son and have the mother locked up in ICE detention

The irony of using "performative" as a pejorative is that, while overtly claiming to be against "merely symbolic gestures," its very use signals a knowledge of Concepts.

The "social factory" as descriptive metaphor for contemporary capitalism disappeared almost as soon as it was uttered. Extraction has since been far more explanatory. So, to read:

Vaccines do not work when individuated; eg, measles vax has a chance of ending measles if vaccination rates are over 80% for a time.
By keeping vax rates too low, measles can't be eliminated, and people will pay for treatments, both real & woowoo. A bigger market that lasts forever.
