Hi, I’m Joshua. I’m a born and raised rural Missouri hillbilly with a PhD in Religion from the University of Denver. I spent 6 years trying to become an Episcopal priest, but washed out of the discernment process in 2022. Now I write online courses about OSHA’s workplace safety requirements.

For me, this will always be the single best adaptation of Dickens’s ‘A Christmas Carol’ ever made. It’s the truest to the source material, and treats it with the gravity and pathos that the story deserves.

This post seems to be a rephrase not of one particular article, but of Google's AI summary of the topic. AltNPS isn't above using AI to generate content, so this doesn't surprise me.

Here's an actual article from Alexis Wainwright at WUSA9, 12/6/25, 10:07 PM CDT:

The other night my wife and I went to see our friends’ daughter’s orchestra performance. It was so lovely! But it got me to thinking about music and perfection in the age of AI.

This is an excellent game. Highly recommend it for puzzle fanatics 🧩
NEW: I spoke to the creator of Blue Prince about what's next for the game, why he won't option it for a film, whether he'll ever say what happened to Mary, player obsession, and much more.

Here's a very fun, spoilery chat about one of the year's best games: www.bloomberg.com/news/newslet...

Yeah, this is bad
If this goes thru it will accelerate Hollywood’s precipitous decline. Thousands laid off. Creatives w/fewer studios willing to bid on projects. Fewer choices of what to watch for consumers. Possibly a death blow for theatrical filmgoing. Just terrible news all around

Still one of my favorite pope jokes.

Journalist to Pope John XXIII: "How many people work in the Vatican?"

Pope John: "About half."

Been mulling over this a lot these past few years, and I really do think that folks who feel called to the contemplative life ought to go and do that instead of seeking priesthood.

According to this article, the folks who put together Project 2025 are hoping to revert US wildfire policy back to the pre-1960s “10 a.m. rule” era of fire suppression. As the son of two wildland firefighters, I have thoughts and feelings about this

Q: So you didn't see any survivors after that first strike?

HEGSETH: I did not personally see survivors. The thing was on fire. This is called the fog of war. This is what you in the press don't understand. You sit in your air conditioned offices and plant fake stories in the Washington Post

I know we all already know this but even if we assume niccol is working 80 hours a week with 0 vacation time he is making $22,836.53/hour. do you think it's possible to work that hard
Starbucks CEO Brian Niccol made $95 million last year. His workers are striking for the bare minimum. Glad to be on the right side of the picket line with them.

This is true, but if we really want to know what happened to the American university, all you have to do is ask the executive assistant to the vice president of student engagement
I dunno man it just really seems like American universities have lost the plot over the past 30 years or so and while I too love college football and basketball, the people making key decisions at them don't seem to care about their educational mission at all
