Is this an “average” in that “we plugged in the salary of a ceo or two who is making 50x more than the employees and skewed the whole calculation we did”

Please read this in the gentlest possible voice but we HAVE to divest from mil-sims as gamedevs. Even before this AI bullshit in the latest Black Ops, these games have done so much harm and contributed massively to the dehumanization of several populations worldwide. It’s US foreign pol propaganda.

And what did they save? Like a few thousand bucks? On a game that is like a billion dollar franchise?

This is just petty and cheap.

When you're spending hundreds of millions and try to save a few thousand on some inferior ass art, something's wrong.
Call of Duty isn't even hiding the fact that loads of its calling cards and other unlockables are AI generated this year.

For one of the biggest video game franchises in the world this is pretty disgusting...

This fucking Big Bopper-looking guy is younger than me?!? The guy that kept popping up in Twitter feeds because people kept RTing his bullshit money giveaways?
This is good reporting and all that but here's the thing I learned the other day: Bill Pulte, the 50-year-mortgage dude and the guy who keeps pulling the mortgage docs of Trump's enemies is only 37 years old.

(trying and failing not to make this about me) I'm not really a journalist but I am on a gaming podcast called VGBees. I cover indies from my perspective with no particular timeline or timeliness, we discuss gaming news across the board, and we have a damn good time making fun of executives
The best way journalists can support indie games is to cover more than whatever the current indie hits/darlings of the moment are. Games like Hades, Blue Prince, and Silksong do not need help with visibility, but discoverability is the biggest challenge facing many indie devs today.

Predictable but still amazing to watch people who spent literally years accusing every librarian, teacher, and trans person they could find of sexually grooming children suddenly throw themselves in with "actually it's ephebophilia"
Megyn Kelly: "I know somebody very close to this case…Jeffrey Epstein, in this person's view, was not a pedophile…He was into the barely legal type, like he liked 15 year old girls…He wasn't into like 8 year olds…There's a difference between a 15 year old and a 5 year old."

Enjoyed the audiobook of Tim Curry’s memoir and it was nice to hear him bring up Muppet Treasure Island and Red Alert 3 (?!). Hoped for a Gabriel Knight mention since doing video games was brought up* but it was not meant to be

I saw some scuttlebutt about a strike and “not crossing the picket line” as a consumer but it’s good to see this in clear language from the union itself: no Starbucks treats til the SWU’s demands are met. I’m down with that
As of this morning, Starbucks workers across the country are officially ON STRIKE. And we're prepared for this to become the biggest and longest ULP strike in Starbucks history.

Say #NoContractNoCoffee with us: DON'T BUY STARBUCKS for the duration of our open-ended ULP strike! $SBUX

The work we do at @avalonhousing.bsky.social is a housing first, permanent supportive housing model; organizations like ours are being targeted for actually implementing the evidence-based practices known to help our neighbors survive. This punitive desire has already been tried and fails miserably
Housing First approaches to homelessness, that prioritize getting a stable roof over people's heads before addressing trauma from the streets & other issues, prove to lead to long term stability. Rounding every homeless person up for forced mental health care which is incarceration is not the way!
I'm a mad person who's lived on the streets & knows a lot of mad people & I know that people like me are disproportionately inclined to homelessness & I don't like when that gets taken out of the conversation. But our reality is that late stage American capitalism can push anyone to the streets.
