I updated whorl, an async executor in Rust meant to teach you how async Rust works under the hood for the first time in a few years. Updated some wording and finally got rid of the Lazy module in favor of std::sync::LazyLock! Check it out! 😁

That being said it’s totally valid just like unsafe. Sometimes you just learn what invariants you baked into your dist sys the hard way! It’s not just unwrap
unwrap() considered dangerous
Cloudflare generated many millions of HTTP 5XX responses today. They were triggered because code in a core proxy called .unwrap() on a Result for an operation that was expected to never fail.

You can just see Google's Promotion Process happening here just like every single Messaging app. It's insane that ad revenue props up idea slop when it could be spent on literally anything else

C: idk lol just keep counting till you see a \0 hopefully they didn’t forget it.
Me: Surely there must be a better way
C: Nope. See you at the next CVE

The Light Novel it’s based off of is called All You Need is Kill so I feel like it really does inherit the spirit of what it adapted in terms of naming.

Anyways if you somehow didn’t see this you should it really is great
By the way, Edge of Tomorrow is definitely the best sci-fi movie — one of the best movies of any genre — that still too many people don’t know about. Suffered from the start from a bad title, but it’s absolutely fantastic. I’ve watched it SO many times.

I am so tired. Trump 2 is so blatantly corrupt and the only people doing anything are every day people.

One of the striking things in Epstein's emails is how fucking inarticulate he is, and how *every other billionaire is just as bad at communicating*.

They're the exact textual equivalents of any interview with Altman or Musk or Thiel etc just fucking babbling incoherent word salad.
