I hate to hand it to Nikita Bier but the “see what country an account is from” button is going to be incredible for content, and if paired with an option to ban all users from certain countries could basically restore the Old Twitter experience.

Mentioned this before, but I often wonder how much conservative gender-anxiety is just aversion to complexity and if maybe they’d be totally fine with like six different gender identifies if they were clearly defined and harshly policed. Real gender centrism has never been tried.

Will be a contrarian for a moment but based on what Stephens cares about it's perfectly rational for him to be scared of Mamdani. It's not about words he said in college but about his underlying political philosophy which is indeed at direct odds with Stephens'' ethnosupremacism and racism.
This is embarrassing. I’m embarrassed for Bret Stephens. If you’re going to write why a mayoral candidate scares you, shouldn’t you name some bad things you think he’d do as mayor, not rely on negative interpretation of words he said in college?
