I almost got hit by a driver in front of my neighborhood’s elementary school. He didn’t stop as he was exiting the school property despite a tight turn and big stop sign. I’m of course in favor of all traffic calming we can do, but how do we get dangerous drivers to give a damn about pedestrians?

A couple of days ago, my 10yo asked me if naturalized citizens could have their citizenship revoked. Because a friend in his class was worried. I didn't know the word "naturalized" when I was 10. I didn't know which classmates were and were not citizens. Because it didn't matter.

Why do I feel like I’m in a dystopian movie?

idk if I’ve ever posted this poem here, but recent events made me think of it, well, relive it really. I wrote this in 2018 when Brett Kavanaugh, a man accused of SA, was nominated into the Supreme Court. It’s titled “Junior Prom Night”.

Over 25 years ago I came forward about being sexually abused by my father as a very young child. I was swiftly attacked by the rest of my family members for doing so. Pressured to pretend it was fiction, I chose estrangement.

Would be nice if my country didn’t do that too.

I say our democracy was never as good in practice as it is on paper. We can do BETTER than before, but we have to FIGHT for that.
