Every now and again it occurs to me that we have assimilated an animal into our human family. The dog doesn’t appear to realise that it is not human. It just fits in and communicates with us using its paws and eyes.

Out wading the river this morning to pick up some otter poop for educational purposes. Some say it smells like jasmine tea or mown grass. It reminds me of neither but doesn’t smell like traditional shite. It doesn’t smell bad anyway. So there you go. #cork

I have obtained a copy of the Flood Advisory issued by Met Éireann to local authorities today showing an orange level flood risk for many parts of East and South. I cannot see why it is not made public as I believe it is in the public interest to share it so I am sharing it.

The state does not cause environmental destruction on its own. It does so with the assistance of environmental consultants who spin and twist information in an attempt to mislead the public and get around environmental protections. Hence legal action. #cork

Just a reminder that the developers of the Blackpool Retail Park rerouted the River Bride in 2003 and did not install flood storage to mitigate as had been promised to flooded business owners a few hundred meters downstream in the village. It was also a planning condition. #cork

A reminder that the OPW could not find a kingfisher on our lovely River Bride in Blackpool. All they really needed was a magic kingfisher stick and a highly motivated individual to find them. Filmed this evening. It wasn’t difficult. #cork
