"Just pray" says the Ignoramus in Chief as more victims are sacrificed to the god of the Gun.

Yes. Pray for sane, courageous, incorruptible leaders to put an end to the carnage.

Has Erika Kirk ever done anything to earn the attention she's getting? Aside from marrying an asshole, which loads of women do every day.

I am so mad America, why can’t you protect your children? Everyone has crazy people, most places don’t let them have guns.
One of my wife’s cousin’s kids is locked up in a library at Brown, closeted from a shooter. I know her personally. She could be a senator or president, someday, easy. I don’t know what to do with this. *fear* *anger*

Turns out not only would I have been fired by now at Texas Tech if I had stayed there, but I would be suspended if I taught at Okie U.
The same people who think we need to bring back real standards to academia also want to give all students a “suspend my professor” button if they don’t like how things are going
From the Oklahoma U student paper: the school is now saying it will automatically suspend faculty (with pay) in response to student complaints

Bovino, the man overseeing mass deportations, publicly declared that we must all have our papers on us, at all times, or we could be stopped, harassed, kidnapped, and detained, as they did with the man in this case, who is a US citizen.

If you're parents of an infant that isn't old enough to be vaccinated it's probably best to avoid taking your infant to places like Costco etc.
We had our flaws, sure. But I feel like we had a pretty decent thing going before we decided to start stabbing ourselves in the face.

Things climate scientists should not have to say:

A thermometer reading doesn’t depend on how you vote.

No, those jets are not spewing mind control exhaust.

Yes, an oil exec really does make a lot more than we do.

And no, it’s not volcanoes, natural cycles, or the sun. We really have checked.

Don’t forget about Public Lending Rights! Sometimes I get more from that than I do from royalties, so making library requests is a great way to support authors financially as well!
Hot take: Using your public library helps fight facism. Don’t buy a book, get it from the library. Or your small local independent bookstore because authors gotta make a living too. But those big box stores? Stop feeding them.

The coming years are going to reveal a lot more waste on 'AI' like this by our governments, to the tune of 10s of billions squandered on appalling nonsense, all to make rich Tech Bros richer.
The Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) paid $18 million for a chatbot named Charlie, which the auditor general reported gave her team the wrong answer 66% of the time.

The chatbot's responses were found to be brief and lacking context, with only 2 out of 6 questions answered accurately.

If a botched American attack on Venezuela leads to civil conflict there that spills over across borders then the blame for ongoing chaos will rapidly shift from Maduro to Trump.

That will not exactly help the wider Right across the Western Hemisphere.

It is telling how even high quality outlets like the America's Quarterly podcast often don't think through scenarios where Trump's violent incompetence might cause an electoral collapse of the US Right or even more chaos in Venezuela that affect his ability to shape outcomes
Whether it is analysis of Trump or Xi's supposed bids for world domination there is so much geopolitical hype that ignores the domestic weakness of great powers

Several of the businesses in which their life savings were invested had Scientology links.

... and to all of the bozos demanding that bikes be regulated, licensed and taxed, if we taxed on the basis of road wear/damage & danger to human lives, small cars $100, big cars $200-400 SUVs $300-800 pickup trucks $10,000, larger pickup trucks $60,000, bicycles $.10.
“For half a century, a litany of federal policies has favored large SUVs & trucks, pushing automakers & buyers toward larger models. Instead of counteracting #CarBloat thru regulation, policymakers have subtly encouraged it. That has been a boon for car companies but a disaster for everyone else.”
The reckless policies that helped fill our streets with ridiculously large cars
Dangerous, polluting SUVs and pickup trucks took over America. Lawmakers are partly to blame.
