🚨 MRCCA Hearing – Tomorrow, 11/19 at 3:30 PM

Downtown’s riverfront is one of Saint Paul’s most underutilized assets. The Planning Commission’s proposed height limits in the Urban Core could limit the potential for a vibrant, thriving downtown.🧵

Couple dozen people total (FBI, HSI, DEA) on site surrounding Bro-Tex at Hamden and Territorial.

“Just executing a search warrant” was the answer given on site.

It just got a pinch easier to open a coffee shop in St. Paul -- and to build housing above it. The St. Paul City Council has approved citywide "Traditional Neighborhood" zoning changes. Give the next study a year or two and it could get easier still. www.twincities.com/2025/11/17/s...
St. Paul City Council simplifies standards in mixed-use zoning areas
The changes aim to simplify rules in traditional neighborhood districts and allow for greater zoning flexibility.

I spent the morning at Temple of Aaron for an Elected Leaders Shabbat talking about how Jewish people have made STP home since the 1850s, and I’m spending the evening at the 50 Years of Progress Gala, celebrating the arrival of the Hmong people. I love this diverse, welcoming city of immigrants.

New St Thomas arena is absolutely awesome! Only a couple small notes:

- $25 is a little high for the cheapest ticket. (And they advertise it as $13 cause that’s the group ticket price). I’d suggest a cheaper standing room ticket around $15
- alcohol sales are only in the suites/club

Weird. Cause my vibe since hearing about this terrible deal has been the opposite. Huh.
Tim Kaine on backlash he's getting: "I got the first good night's sleep last night that I've gotten since Oct 1, b/c I wasn't worried about being able to look Capitol Police in the eye when I walked in, or what a furloughed fed worker would say to me at church, or what somebody would say about SNAP"

I really cannot imagine going to all the trouble of getting elected to the Senate only to get there and decide not to stand up for healthcare, or democracy, or people’s ability to afford their lives. If those things aren’t worth fighting for, then truly what is?

Shutting down the government is a big deal. People have been hurt in big ways as a result of the decision. To have that suffering be for nothing—to re-open the government without actually having protected people’s health insurance and economic well-being—is unconscionable.

5. Most overrated: there is no perennial blossom that’s overrated, flowers are a miracle
6. No THC beverage company currently in Minnesota has consistent THC in their products
