William Hendrix used the words “n--ga” and “n--guh,” variations of a racial slur, more than a dozen times in the chat. Bobby Walker referred to rape as “epic.” Peter Giunta wrote in a message sent in June that “everyone that votes no is going to the gas chamber.”

Minneapolis’ first all-Indigenous firefighter crew hopes to inspire kids and adults in the community.

“That made a huge difference in the community for them to see a Native man with long hair that looks like me on a fire rig going to 911 calls,” Johnny Crow said.

Besides responding to blazes on Engine 10, they hope to inspire Indigenous kids and adults in the community.
