Shaheen: We have a guaranteed vote by a guaranteed date…

Reporter: There is no guarantee that this will become law.

Shaheen: There was never a guarantee that it would be become law.

Improving health care has been the cause of my life. It’s why I am running for congress. So I cannot support this deal when Speaker Johnson refuses to even allow a vote to extend health care tax credits. My statement:

Can I ask some of Jeanne Shaheen's #NewHampshire constituents on here whether all you are asking of her is "why can't you work together" with the Republicans in Congress?
Shaheen: "When I talk to my constituents in New Hampshire, you know what they say to me? They say, 'Why can't you all just work together to address the problems that are facing this country?'"

Sounds like her overwhelmingly white constituents shouldn’t have first say in choosing the Democratic nominee ever again, because here in SC, @repjamesclyburn.bsky.social’s constituents are happy that unlike her, he’s fighting.

Not sure about that. 1. the blame is already baked in. 2. GOP is still in power across all 3 branches. 3. People just want Dems to fight harder and more strategically versus shift in blame. We will vote the folders out for folding but GOP will do nothing to stop raising healthcare and that’s on them

Important to note that the DNC, House Dems, 2028 contenders, and even the most pro-leadership pundits and influencers are all laying on Senate Dems right now.

They betrayed all of us. Schumer has no allies left.

Now we have Trump blasting air traffic controllers, telling them they hate this country for not showing up without pay.

"I am NOT HAPPY WITH YOU. You didn’t step up to help the U.S.A. against the FAKE DEMOCRAT ATTACK... You will have a negative mark, at least in my mind, against your record."

...maybe not in light of the latest news. :-/
There’s an alternate timeline in which Obama goes with the VP pick he always wanted, Tim Kaine, Kaine gets elected as his successor in 2016, & we avoid this whole mess.
November 10, 2025 at 4:15 PM
Obama calling Tim Kaine to tell him he's decided to pick Biden for VP: "You are the pick of my heart, but Joe Biden is the pick of my head."

...should we be glad he didn't follow his heart, then?
the amount of damage tim kaine has done over his career is honestly staggering, not just being the VP candidate on the ticket that fucked up against maga to begin with, remember he was DNC head during the utter disaster of the 2009–11 cycle where they failed to convert on any of the obama wave

Kaine voted for Eileen Cannon after Biden won the election. About a week later. Guess he forgot Obama never got to fill that SCOTUS seat. Trump put Cannon up as judge and he and Warner both help put her in office. She delayed the cases against trump in Florida. I fucking remember.

Yeah, as someone who followed the ACA in infinitely too much detail for someone who wasn't being paid to follow it (British hilarity aside), it became clear to me that the US doesn't really have *a* healthcare system, it has a series of complex and loosely connected healthcare systems.
