It really is just plainly true that in sport after sport there are instances of athletes who are clearly the best in the world for years at a time totally faceplanting in the Olympics.

It is nuts to me that no other South Americans have won any Olympic Medals. They have the Andes!! People go there in our summer to train during their winter!

A non-trivial part of this is Terry Gannon being a good straight man I think. 95 percent of pxp guys are afraid of looking like they don't know ball so they don't ask for an explanation when the audience needs one.
I know Weir/Lipinski have become something of a meme at this point, but I think they're legitimately very good at helping a layman understand why something is good/bad. I feel like I have gained a better understanding of the sport over the last week because of them.
