Noel has never been more correct.

Sometimes we as a society get so disgusted and offended by a TV commercial that the ad quickly gets pulled from the air, and friends, we need to apply that takedown energy towards the Verizon commercial where the guy at the plastic surgeon has his mouth in his chest. This is an emergency.

I can hear that laugh so distinctly. A shame that line didn’t make the final cut.

Many reposts of this, and well-deserved. When one just pastes the New Yorker link into the interface, the lede is, "The actor and singer discusses the origins of 'The Rocky Horror Picture Show,' his relationship with David Bowie, and the joy of working with Miss Piggy." Well, tet's cut to the chase:
An excerpt from an October 12, 2025 interview with Tim Curry in The New Yorker:

[Michael Schulman, interviewer:] A few years after that, you did "Muppet Treasure Island." Did you have conflict with any of the Muppets?
[Timy Curry:] I didn't. They're my favorites, actually. One of the great things about working with them is that you come to see them as characters and not as puppets, which is down to the brilliance of the Muppeteers. I loved Miss Piggy. We got on great.
[Schulman:] She's difficult to share the spotlight with.
[Curry:] She is. She's a greedy girl. It was established in the script that we had, maybe sometime in the past, some kind of a fling together. And I improvised a line which never made it into the movie: "Once you've had pork, you never look back." [Deep laugh.]

Disney has tried so hard to make Tron into a viable franchise, but they did zilch with The Rocketeer. For shame.

“Ratio me. Please.” is the 2025 version of “I’m not mad, please don’t write in the newspaper that I’m mad.”

Adjusted for inflation, John Carter had a $42 million opening weekend. (And to another question I saw, Morbius had a $39 million opening weekend.)

Is that inflation adjusted?

More than anything else, we’re one step closer to a World Series entirely in stadiums that have roofs.

I wonder if The Grey Zone was a connection, too, since it was directed by Tim Blake Nelson.

I saw the Demon Slayer movie today under…we’ll say mild duress…and the moment when I perked up the most was when I recognized a very famous voice in the dub.

What an absolute treasure Diane Keaton was. Her wit never tired, nor did her style.

Jared Leto is fetch, and Hollywood execs are all Amanda Seyfried in Mean Girls.
mousterpiece.bsky.social
It really is hilarious that the first time a movie featuring Jared Leto made at least $100 million at the domestic box office is also the only time. (Suicide Squad, a movie no one had negative thoughts about.)

Jared Leto may have a toxic reputation, he may have a wildly unappealing screen presence, but say what you will, he also can't open a movie either.

Mamdani talking lucidly and passionately about trans rights and history in a video that should frankly shame every politician who has hemmed and hawed and triangulated and said, "Well, but sports..." It's not that hard to tell the truth and stand for what's right. www.youtube.com/watch?v=bEvV...

Legacy also opened to $43 million in its opening weekend, and benefitted from the long holiday season. This new movie has no such luck. (And it didn’t have competition this week!)
mousterpiece.bsky.social
It is inaccurate to say that Tron or Tron Legacy were flops, to be clear. They weren’t! But they’ve never been world-beaters. Legacy made $172 million domestically on a $200 million budget. Not a flop, but also not great, Bob.

Also, sorry, the third film in a franchise that has always been a cult success with a hard ceiling didn’t do massive numbers? The hell, you say.
mousterpiece.bsky.social
Hold on, are you telling me that a new big-budget Jared Leto movie has not translated to box office success? You’re blowing my mind here.

‘TRON: ARES’ has earned $14.3M in its opening day at the domestic box office.

For comparison, ‘MORBIUS’ opened to $17.3M.

I wish I was surprised that Deadline claims it asked questions that were actually asked by me and other journalists at this James Gunn press conference. No one from Deadline even *submitted questions* for it (and I know, because I moderated). This is just brazen and sad.
