The obesity rate for 10-11 year olds in England was 22.1% in 2023/24.

That's down from 25.5% in 2020/21, after falling for the last three years.

It's one of a range of health indicators we're tracking via our #QualityWatch programme.

THOUGHT BUBBLE THOTS

Now that I have a fully functional brain, I can't press enough how much Thought Bubble is... extremely the comics show for me and people like me. Folks who are not only stoked to see the things that people create, but to get inspired for making art for arts sake.

I came to this country as a child refugee. No English, no certainty, no idea what my life could become. Britain gave me refuge.

Not on a timer, not with conditions attached, but with a chance to grow roots.

UK set to limit refugees to temporary stays
Shabana Mahmood is expected to say the era of permanent protection for refugees is over, in major changes to the UK's asylum and immigration system.

TWICE today, speakers didn't know what to say and had to stop because they COULDN'T READ THEIR OWN SLIDES.

There is so much wrong with that, I don't know where to begin.

Researchers: "We are working very hard to try and get national consensus so we can standardise EVERYTHING."

Do you know which minority group standardising everything helps the most?

Researchers!

(this is cynicism, please ignore)

*Apologetically*: "The next couple of slides are very busy"

That was a choice you made.

“It’s impossible to reboot Bond” says production team who decided Bond first got his licence to kill in the 21st Century, as Daniel Craig, then got incredibly old within two films and was being put out to pasture, but also had Sean Connery’s 1960s car.

It’s Bond. Just do whatever the fuck you like.
